Patriots chances at the #2 seed

Since the #2 seed conversation is moot, and considering today's results, I am on board with the #3. And it appears that #3 is ours if we win out. So assuming Denver and Baltimore also do win out, we get Denver at home then SD in SD. If Baltimore beats Cincy they go into Indy, probably lose, but beats the crap out of Indy (Baltimore's style). Then if we somehow, someway get past SD, we get a roughed up Indy that has the "perfect season" monkey on their back.

That's how I see the best rpossible oad to the SB for the Patriots.

It actually can still happen, but now SD must lose to both Ten AND Washington at home (yeah, right), and Cin must lose one of their two remaining games... (and of course, the Pats must win out).

What sucks is that SD is now a definitive possibility if the Pats win a WC game, and it would be a Saturday night game (AFC has the Sat night/Early Sun windows this year for the divisional round)...

are pretty much over.

I disagree, san diego could definitely lose to tennessee and washington. Is it likely? No, but it's possible. All that has to happen is we win out and they lose out correct?

hence, pretty much.

Tennessee is a tough matchup for any team right now. And, washington has been playing a lot better. I'm actually going to make a bold statement and say the titans upset the chargers on short rest this week, it's a more important game for the titans remember. However, I see them beating the skins.

Why does Cincy need to lose another game? (assuming both teams win their remaining two games) Pats/Cincy have tied records, tied conf records, tied common opponent records. Strength of schedule is the next tie breaker. Cincy has played 5 games with opponents that have losing records: Cleveland twice (3 wins), KC (3 wins),detroit (2 wins). Patriots have only Tampa Bay (2 wins) and 3 games with 5 win teams (plus on the other side an undefeated team and 1 one loss team unlike Cincy with 1 two win team and 1 three win team). I admit I could be wrong on the strength of schedule concept but it appears to me that it should definitely go to the Patriots.

In addition to SD losing out and NE winning out it's not either game for Cincy. Cincy must lose or tie their game vs KC.

Pats should do everything they can to play the Broncos in the first round. The other teams scare me.

I'm getting nervous about being the 3 seed over the 4 seed. If PIT makes it, they'll probably be the 6 seed based on a 9-7 record. I would much rather play the Broncos instead of the Steelers. Roethlisberger is too damn good for this defense. I think the Pats should lose on purpose like they did in that 2005 year so they can get a favorable matchup with the Broncos. Anyone with me on this one?

I dont see SD losing at home to Washington. Tenn maybe.

It's looking more like the #3 seed. We have the tie breaker with Cinncinati if we both win out.
