Patriots are showing noticeable intensity in practice during bye & a "FINISH STRONG!" attitude

Rare full-pads playoff practice reflects Patriots' focus on a strong finish

Notes: Practice intensity up during playoffs

Not sure if it's more of a reflection of good roster health, but there's a certain level of swagger and determination about this Patriots team that's stood out the last couple of bye days....I'm hoping this will shape up to be another memorable Super Bowl run!

This is a different approach from that of the AFC’s No. 2 playoff seed, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are taking this entire week off.

Wow. Anyone else smell "one-and-done"?

EDIT: Andy beat me to it by 43 minutes.

I like this! Sometimes there is concern with the bye week in that a team losing it's momentum. While I don't agree necessarily with that thinking, this is the kind of practice that should help them to keep their edge. This team has been on one hell of a roll, peaking at just the right time!

And it's been evident since the Denver game. Guys have said they want to go all out and are "not done yet".

FINISH.

To be fair, I believe there's a rule in the CBA that mandates four (five?) consecutive days off from practice during a bye week. The Chiefs are just doing it sooner (and maybe extending it a bit). The Pats are off from tomorrow through Monday or Tuesday.

Ok, I guess it makes some sense then. Personally, I think the Pats approach is better because it is more in line with the usual weekly schedule and gives them the weekend off so that they can watch the Wild Card games. Will KC start practicing this weekend or are they taking the entire week off?

After the Seattle performance, this is great news.

they play like that again and they'll have a tough time against even a mediocre team.

BB coached teams usually play well after a bye. I think Seattle was a "one off" in that it was the first game after the Collins trade and the defense was in disarray.

It didn’t help that the Pats caught Seattle when they were their healthiest.

Agree for the most part - but I think a physical team has an advantage over a team that doesn't make the most of the bye week regarding practice - and with the new CBA rules, it has to be a soft week. Not sure if that applies to playoffs, though. It shouldn't.

I was pretty confident in 2014.

At 28-14 BAL I was just about ready to drown my sorrows but I stepped away from the Wild Turkey
I was at the game and just walked around the concourse for 20 minutes in a fog when it was 28-14. I missed Gronk's TD.

I never got into that cartoon as a kid

Only reason I know of it is because Cartoon Network would play reruns before I'd go to school 20+ years ago. I didn't really get the premise either...looked pretty cool. Weirdly I thought this cartoon was being done during the time it aired in reruns, not knowing it only lasted 1 year in the 60s. Damn Google.

When I was a kid I kind of liked Jetsons reruns but couldn't stand the Flintstones. Then I read that the Jetsons was created in the '60s to duplicate the success of the then-current Flintstones -- basically the same formula turned on its chronological head. For some reason that creeped me out at the time.

I know Bill won't make the same mistake like '07 but I hope he doesn't over push them and exercises proper balance between practice and rest cause I remember somebody from the '07 Patriots team saying Bill went a lil over board In preparation and practice but I know BB has all possible angles covered this time round but just hope the're not over doing it

As a kid, I had a thing for Jane Jetson but even back then I thought it was a pretty *****y move for her to swipe George's whole damn wallet.
