For next Sunday, he will be the sacrificial offering to Bernie pollards attempt to injure someone

He wont play so soon, but it would be nice if Winslow put Pollard on IR.

I never hope for injuries, but this is an exception.

YOU dont think a extra Mill is worth is to keep the *franchise* Tom Brady upright?

and you don't think if it came down to finding a way to get him another million they wouldn't do it?

waters doesn't want to play

What is the cost of letting one player hold up a franchise? How do you measure that? If they give in to Waters, every decent player will be able to use him as a precedent in future negotiations: "Give me another million or I'm not coming to camp. NO? Why not? You did it for Waters".

Let's be honest here, and I've not really dived into the Waters thing as much as some others:

1.) The Patriots have a history of not giving guys great bumps in accordance with their play. There are exceptions, but Welker can tell you that exceptions is all they are.

2.) Waters played at a Pro Bowl level and was certainly worth more of a contract than what he had for this season.

3.) The reported Patriots increase "offer" was specifically tied to games played, meaning that an injury to Waters would have eliminated that pay increase.

I don't know the numbers involved, but Waters asking for 5-6 million without that 'per game' nonsense would not have been unreasonable.

I'm going to ignore your stupid questions until you answer my good one.
An additional million prorated on a game basis to his original contract.

What did the New England Patriots organization gain for $3.85 million?

That's pretty clearly an aberration. How often do players wash out for missed/obscured medical conditions?

DE Rob Ninkovich – 60 of 64
DE Chandler Jones – 58 of 64
DT Vince Wilfork – 57 of 64

He certainly plays him like one. My only beef with him is I think he's incredibly overrated by the coaching staff and a portion of this fanbase.

Chandler Jones is a rookie and Vince doesn't play the same position.

I'd like to see Cunningham take some of Ninko's snaps, but I don't find him particularly overrated. Most people around here see him for what he is, I think.

Why don't you revisit the Logan Mankins scenario?

Winslow should be the TE2 in terms of snap numbers this next game.

Doesnt he need to learn the playbook and earn playing time in practice?

So, the Hooman should be #2 until Winslow catches up to him in practice reps?

The New England Patriots backed up the Brink's Truck to Ochocinco's driveway for $6 million.

Two things are at play here:

1.) He's more like Hernandez than #47

2.) #47 was a blocking TE who couldn't block last week

I don't think it should take him more than 20 minutes to pass #47 on the depth chart.

Not a fan of Winslow but this is a good signing to replace Hernandez on a temporary basis as he brings a similar skillset, although he certainly isn't Hernandez.

Wow, Winlsow learns the Pats offense in 4 days.

Its a miracle.

he doesn't need to learn the whole offense. He just needs to learn enough to be the TE2 over #47.

He needs to know where to line up and get up to speed with Brady otherwise Winslow is useless.

Moreover, if Brady doesnt trust a receiver, he is not getting the ball.

All that is going to happen this week? I dont think so.

#47 was signed on September 5th. I believe he was active for the game on the 9th.

Please tell me an organization that will piss away the following money:

Albert Haynesworth - $? million
Chad Ochostinko - $6 million guaranteed
Jonathan Fanene - $3.85 million guaranteed

only to turnaround and subsequently penny pinch Pro-Bowl right offensive guard Brian Waters.
Bovine pasture patties!!! You don't know that at all. It appears you have contracted a severe case of Folgeritis!

Haynesworth redux. Don't think this will work out.
