Izzo is suffering, due to circumstances, from early advance in responsibilities beyond his skill maturity, much like Roberts early on, and looking comparably bad. I think he'll be ok once he gets some breathing space to actually grow into his job. Right now he's trying to drink from a fire hydrant.

The funny thing about Izzo's blocking is that the scouting reports out of FSU, where he played a ton vs. very good opponents, was that he was had good-to-great potential as a blocker, so-so hands and less-than-stellar quickness, so very limited wrt receiving. My expectation from the draft discussions was we'd have a Dwayne Allen replacement, or at least a poor man's version. So far... big nope. Technique problem?
