If we're talking about a guy that is most likely going to be a sub rusher, I strongly prefer Irvin over McClellin. Irvin is reminiscent of Von Miller at times coming off the edge. If the Pats for some reason think McClellin is a 3-down player, that's different.

Could you imagine if we payed him $8 million a year and gave up a first round pick?

The 31st pick looks like it's going to be 4-year $8 million total

Irvin has a very checkered past and just recently got into more trouble (Minor but it shows a continuing pattern.)

I am not sure I could justify taking McCellin with a 1st round pick. His tape is just not that strong.

However if the Chargers are serious about taking Mercilous with their first round pick, it could create a situation where second round OLB talent is pushed up due to demand.

If Brockers is available when Dallas is on the clock, does BB call his old friend Jerry and work some magic?

Actually, if Webb lives up to last year's promise, $8 million a year is a bargain for him. There are some #2 CBs making as much or more like Cromartie.

I do not agree w/ using any of our precious few draft picks to acquire Brockers in a trade-up. If he's avail. at 27, then I would consider him; if he's not, then no big deal. He could very likely be the next Marquise Hill.

I know, Ochmed, about Bruce Irvin's checkered past. Hell, I've got a checkered past, too. But patsfans.com still lets me vent.

I scratching my rather large backside--not as large, mind you, as Steve DeOssie's--and trying to differentiate the difference in athleticism between last year's darling sweet heart Von Miller and this year's stay-away-from-him bad boy Bruce Irvin.

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - Von Miller

Almost identical forty times--4.53 Miller/4.50 Irvin;
IDENTICAL three cone drill--6.70
20 yard shuffle--4.06 Miller/4.03 Irvin
Broad jump--126" Miller/123" Irvin

So Von Miller is a tiny fraction slower than Irvin, though can leap a few inches longer. And his combine results caused a feeding frenzy. And I'm supposed to worry about Irvin tiny misdemeanor?

It's funny how these things work. Jerry Maguire is right.

And if he completely falls off (which isn't overly unlikely considering he only started for 1 year), then the Ravens just blew $20M on a one-year wonder. And that's still way better than wasting $20M AND a first round pick on a one-year wonder.
