I’m actually a Parcells fan, but I don’t think he should go in. I don’t have a problem with it, but I voted no.

Negotiating with another team WHILE your current team is getting ready for a SB, seems like a very good reason to not make the team HOF.

If Bill had benched Brady for SB 52, and they got blown out with Hoyer, he would never be allowed back in NE. Let alone a team HOF. In fact, he would have been fired the very next day.

Some mistakes are forever unforgiveable. And jeopardizing a title seems like one.

Yes. Without Parcells, the Patriots aren't relevant in the mid to late 90's. And most importantly, there's no BB.

That's another interesting question. What if BB sat out the 1996 season and just joined Parcells in 1997 with the Jets? The Patriots would've eroded by the early 2000's and reverted back to the bad team they were mostly known for. Tom Brady is drafted elsewhere.

It's not about 30 years. It's about his worthiness to be in the HOF. His .500 record. His for all intents and purposes BEFORE the superbowl.

Parcells was excellent at BUILDING teams and he did it several times in his career. But what he couldn't do was the hardest thing for a HC to do which is MAINTAIN excellence and he certainly didn't do it here in New England.

I still maintain the hope that this is an April Fools joke. I do NOT want Bill Parcells in the Patriots HOF especially since Russ Francis still isn't.

I don't like (to put it mildly) that he essentially took the Jets HC job before they even played the Packers in the SB. Then, he didn't ride in the plane back home with the team after they lost. He DOES NOT belong in the Patriots HOF. Fairbanks should be in there, as should Russ Francis. Parcells shouldn't even be in the conversation until at least Fairbanks and Francis are in (and even then, I'd be against it). But, to state the incredibly obvious, I don't make such decisions.

Lets say Kraft fired Parcells right before Super Bowl week and after the McDonough article. Who is named HC of the NEP for the SB?

At the time, BB was the Assistant HC.

That would have been interesting.

BB of course and Drew wins the SB and then goes on to lead the team to several more in '01, '03, & '04. Brady goes to San Fran where he sits behind Jeff Garcia for several years before finally getting a chance to start and then goes on to lose in 07 but secures his starting job. Eventually winning 4 in '14, '16, '18, and '20.

Kraft still fires Bill who then goes to the Giants and wins 2 there. We are still regretting that choice and waiting on Vrabel to save us.

I've often wondered what Brady would have been like if he had Bledsoe's size and arm strength. But, of course combined with everything that made Brady great (Mind, Drive, Accuracy, and Leadership, Etc.).

I think he should.

Him joining the organization was a turning point in the franchise and built the core that was responsible for the first 3 championships.

If Eli Manning could win Super Bowls, so could have Drew Bledsoe.

I've often wondered what Brady would have been like if he had Bledsoe's size and arm strength. But, of course combined with everything that made Brady great (Mind, Drive, Accuracy, and Leadership, Etc.).

Brady's arm strength was more than good enough. Check out the throw to Moss at the end of SB42. Thing traveled 70 yards in the air with accuracy.

I actually think Brady was the better athlete. Keep in mind he was drafted by the Expos and letted in 3 sports in HS.
