Please God no.. I lived thru this once and it was horrible. Panther Fans to this day hate everything Patriots because of that SB loss.

What are they more mad about down there, losing super bowl 38 or losing the civil war?

I am looking forward to it, the next 2 weeks is going to seriously test this team and i want that heading towards the play-offs. The Panthers will really test this offense and the Bronco's their defense, we should have a good measure of how good this team is by the time the Denver game wraps up. They need at least a split and they will be in pretty good shape going down the home stretch.

Well you're no fun. That was probably the most fun super bowl, really fun panthers team. Those guys were nasty. Jake Delhomme was so weirdly clutch for the panthers. Are Jordan Gross and Steve Smith only guys left from that 03 team?

I am not overly concerned about a crazy pass rush because year in and year out we deal with it(wake, watt, mathis, etc). I am concerned if their front seven can stuff the run like the jets or seattle. I always feel that we have a great shot of winning if we can run. I know the panthers couldn't defend the run last year and I'm wondering how much could they have improved in a year.

I do not fear Cam as a passer. He seems to throw at least one pick in every game I have seen. Cam as a runner scares me. We almost never have to deal with a mobile qb, especially not one at Cam's level. Just the thought of our fat linebackers trying to catch him makes me cringe.

Too this point, I have never seen a healthy Gronk stopped, and I don't expect the panthers to be the first to do so. Imho, Gronk will play a huge role in us defeating the panthers.

I imagine it's the metric about throwing the football. Although I will say, Wilson is a gambler and it will come bite him eventually.

Wilson has the luxury of playing with one the best defenses in the NFL and at the beginning of this year and all of last, one of the best offensive lines. Newton has never had that luxury (until this season and Carolinas line is still average at best). Newton is better in the pocket (at both standing tall and protecting the ball) and more dangerous as a runner. They both make some bad decisions, but Wilson hasn't gotten bitten as often when they do. If you swap teams with them I have no doubt that Cam would match if not exceed Wilsons production. I don't see how anybody can say Wilson is marginally better than Cam newton after watching Wilson and Cam this season. A lot of people have jumped right off the RG3 and Kaepernick bandwagons from last year and on to the Luck bandwagon this year. Cam was terrible in his sophomore season but he's been much better this year and he's been deadly at extending drives.

I usually think of the Pats as being an excellent team at picking up the blitz. But one casualty of the RB youth movement seems to have been blocking, and I'm not sure blitz adjustments can be relied on yet with the new receivers.

Meanwhile, I won't touch your Newton/WILSON comparison.

hopefully Vereen is back for the game because he adds an entire new dimension to the offense. If the pats can give different looks with Vereen moving around in the backfield and out wide it will limit what Carolina can do with LK and Davis. The Panthers have nobody that can matchup with Gronk.

Ya the one I read some idiot said how the Pats run game was terrible and in the same post said how the panthers had an elite running game.

Yet stats say the Pats have been the better running team through 9 games.

If Brady can get decent protection, he's going to pick this carolina D apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats threw it 90% of the time. The Pats will be marching up and down the field all game long. The Panthers have not played an elite QB yet this year. I'll give them props for their ability to stop the run and put pressure on the QB, but there's recievers open on almost every play. Brady's licken his chops RIGHT NOW. The Panthers will be exposed this Sunday, no doubt.

You could say that about any fan base, including this one. I still haven't forgotten the threads supporting Matt Cassel over Tom Brady...

In any large group, you're going to find morons. Pats fans, Broncos fans, Panthers fans, Republicans, Democrats, Green Party, whatever. To make opinions based on the worst of a group is a really jaded and inaccurate way to view the world.

Their fans haven't had a lot to be excited about in recent history, so they're thrilled to be relevant, amazed to be in contention, and they should be excited and happy and all those great things that fans do when they are filled with hope.

It's something we kind of lack here, like when we're 7-2 and people are hating on our top 10 offense, and our top 10 defense sucks, and a division win is meaningless without a Super Bowl, and we boo our HOF QB and talk **** about one of the most innovative and brilliant HCs in the history of the game.

Let them be happy, let them be thrilled, let them be excited...it's one of the few joys of being a fan, and it's something that many of us seem to have forgotten.

I was with ya until I got here. Kinda had to read it over a few times, too. Where is any of this... ingratitude or ignorance on here? Do people post things like that in game day threads when we're losing and fans are frustrated? Are you talking about the thread on how Steelers scored 31 points (their highest score this season) against us, which worried some people about the defense? Who on here doesn't appreciate this team or enjoy being a Pats fan? I wanna know, 'cause they don't deserve this team and should get the **** out.
