Our receiving corp is already better than in 2022. We have

1) a better OC

2) a better OL coach

3) a 2nd receiving TE

4) improved OT's

5) the addition of a receiving RB

6) Thornton, Bourne and Parker should all be better with better coaching and with another year together
=================
I believe that Belichick will continue to
6) try to find a top receiver at a reasonable price
7) bring in competition for camp (also needed in case of injury)
8) Look for a 5th receiver in the draft
===========
HOWEVER, Belichick may be more satisfied with what we have than we are, with 7 targets behind an improved OL.

WR: Shuster, Thornton, Parker, Bourne
TE: Henry, Gesicki
RB: Harrison

I agree with all the other reasons you posted,e.g. BOB,etc but don't know that JuJu is an upgrade over Meyers. Maybe a slight downgrade. That's certainly the consensus from around the league.

I don't think we have 4) yet but I'm somewhat confident that we will eventually.

I agree they will be they are better, but still need another draft pick within the first 3 rounds of the upcoming draft.

Juju is better value than Meyers.

Bourne was already better than Meyers and I see a bounce back year with him as long as the office politics have ended.

Thornton should make more of an impact than running the dreaded drag routes with Patricia.

Gesicki was lost in the shuffle last year and is a pretty good TE.

A receiving back is the least of my worries.

I don't know that Juju is a downgrade at all.. only criticism I read was from some AFC Gms stating that he got pretty much the same contract Myers eas given. I like Myers wish we could have kept him..

Juju is a YAC machine that is what seperates him from Myers..

As for the Meyers vs. Schuster argument....

I would argue that while Meyers has been more productive over the last 2 seasons, Schuster is a better fit for this team. We need someone to make some YAC happen.

Absolutely correct.. I'm really big on the gisikie signing I always liked his game. We have some pieces on offense and I know they'll be more to come!

Juju is faster and better than Meyers. Look at their career stats on a per game basis, the only even way to judge them.

Rec. - Yds. - TD’s
3.9 - 46.0 - 0.1 Meyers
5.1 - 60.6 - 0.4 JuJu

They’re both plus blockers from the slot, what separates Juju is speed. Meyers took a long time to score his first TD because he is glacially slow. Juju had more TD’s in one season than Meyers has for his career and Juju can get yards after the catch because defenders take longer to catch up to him.

Would love Thornton to become our lightweight Desean Jackson style WR1 outlet.

The kind that will just catch a couple bombs a game for 100yds 1 TD, and leave the underneath to the possession guys to save his light frame.

He definitely has that capability and I believe with some real offensive structure and defined roles he will be to grow into that player.. He can allow this offense to be vertical as well as the Intermediate stuff. I'm high on Thornton..

I'm hoping for enough offensive stability so BoB runs some formations where he stacks Thornton and Jones on one side, forcing the D to put their speed over them. Should open up options for the others.

I love juju's physicality, he's tough to tackle and does his work slot, boundary, and intermediate.. he will likely command teams # 1 CB's.. wich allows guys like Thornton, Bourne and Parker to make plays..

Yeah Meyers was solid but basically where he caught the ball was where the play ended most of the time. Especially with Mac throwing short of the 3rd down sticks a lot - killed many drives.

Yes, I hope we are a much better 3rd down team this season.. yes juju is a YAC machine and he doesn't shy away from contact.
