It is interesting that there is no active thread on Gonzo. My view at this point is that trading him ought to remain a very live option. I find any demand for equity of compensation for a CB with such sturdier players as D-linesmen, for example, to be absurd. CB's are fragile beasts, and a greater number of them are narcissistic pains in the ass than players at other positions. I frankly have concerns about his character, based I admit at this point merely on reading a few tea leaves, but I think a little vigilance as to his evolving, or devolving, attitude is not out of place. Really top end CBs;, such as Gonzo, are as rare as hen's teeth, but solid, serviceable ones are a dime a dozen, not 40 million bucks a year. Add to that that the haul for the team in a trade would be VERY substantial, and I see no need at all to be squeamish about the prospect.
