Count me in. The guy obviously feels he has something to prove. The more bodies at the WR position for training camp, the better.

Of course, why not sign a vet willing to play for minimum at a position of need?. Better to sign a player early; gives him more time to learn the playbook and the team more time to make a decision. If he's not worth keeping the only thing it cost you was one of 80 roster spots in training camp. But please, if that's the case, figure it out before week one rather than mid-season this year.

He'll turn 32 later this year and has played in 19 games in the last 3 seasons with 41 catches combined. I wouldn't mind signing him just to see how his health is but I really don't think he'd make the 53 man roster.

I think lazy is a better adjective than hungry for this guy. Raiders paid him almost a mill a catch. Wow.

No-Brainer............ Absolutely!

If he's healthy, and hungry he's an upgrade over Patten who hasn't taken a snap in over a year.

Unless he doesn't have the mental makeup to play in this offense, can't hurt to work him out and see where he is physically.

I agree, with him its more about intrigue and seeing what he has left rather than excitement if he is signed to an offer.

I, too, am willing to sign for the NFL minimum.

So am I, doubt either of us are good enough to play in the NFL though.

Which puts us in the same boat with Walker.....

You dont know what he could do IF healthy, guy was once a stud receiver why not give him a chance see if has something left if he is healthy and willing to sign for the minimum to prove himself.

He was a healthy scratch for 13 games last season.

Look, don't get me wrong on this. If BB wants to bring the guy in for a physical, it's not my money. If Belichick thinks he can walk and chew gum at the same time, that's close to an upgrade for the WR3 position. I'm just not sure that someone who was done 3 years ago is really worth the time.

the possible reward far outweighs the risk, of course u do it...

maybe hell finally get smart, u never know

For the NFL minimum, sign him and cut him during the preseason if he doesn't work out. The Pats were interested in him just before he went to Denver.

If nothing else it sounds like he has a good attitude, not that words from a potential free agent mean a whole lot. From an Oakland-area paper:
Javon talks Raiders - Inside the Oakland Raiders - A look inside the world of the highly classified Oakland Raiders from the writers of Bay Area News Group

I’m not scared of nothing. I’ll come in there. I’ll workout with the team. Run routes for whoever I need to run to because my ability is where I need it to be. I’m the Pro Bowler who was there in Green Bay. Whatever team thinks they’re in need of a top receiver, 30 years old, in his prime, they’re going to come get me.”

“Yes, the thing about football right now is it’s not really about the money. Even when I went to Oakland, I said I’d give that money back. I just want to play football and utilize my talent to help a team win the Super Bowl and everything else will take care of itself.”

He also says that he's 100% healthy for the first time since he was in Denver, and says he's a huge fan of Randy Moss while pointing out that he's not the first player to go to Oakland and have his talents apparently disappear.

The one thing I'd say is a bit of a stretch are his comments about never being in trouble. While it may be true that he has no criminal record, he was indeed found unconscious in a Las Vegas street, this after Darrent Williams died in his arms.

There's also the issue of Walker having knee surgery but not telling the Raiders about it. But for Walker and potential teams like the Pats, I suppose the biggest question is whether or not he truly is fully recovered from the surgery and back to being 100% healthy.

I was just going to make a thread on this...I say bring him in.

It certainly can't hurt and he's willing to play for the minimum...he has something to prove and he wants to prove it. The reward far out weighs the risk imo.

I'd take a chance on him.
