It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The wind didn't really take that kick though, that was a shank-job.Exactly, kickers are paid damn good money and part of their responsibility and the special teams coach is to monitor the wind not as your getting ready to kick but through out the game, I do cut the kicker some slack though since he was a rookie, I’m guessing he hasn’t experienced wind like that before.
I wouldn't be so quick to say 'he can't'. I think he, himself, has become aware of his physical limitations going forward, and make a pretty good effort to be a better pocket passer. If he's paired with a coach that can help him (the Ravens did NOT have that on the staff), I think he ends up being a top-10 guy going forward until he's 34, 35ish.If Lamar couldn’t win the season before last with the most dominant defense in the NFL, a large powerful OLine and good weapons he never was going to.
I’ll repeat what I said in 2018 before the draft.
You have to be able to pass from the pocket against the best defenses in the NFL to win in the playoffs. Lamar can’t.
The only impossible play to defend in football is the perfectly blocked pass and catch. Lamar isn’t an accurate passer.
If Lamar was going to improve as a passer, he would have done it already. He’s almost 30 years old.I wouldn't be so quick to say 'he can't'. If not, he's Russell Wilson, and will be on the Steelers in 3 years.
Just for comparison, I haven't seen Mahomes or Allen make any effort to be better in the pocket, and they still play the same way they did when they were 24.
I think there's a real possibility that Jackson's still considered a top-10 guy in 5 years, while Mahomes and Allen get by on reputation from talking heads.
Josh Allen shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as that winner Mahomes: until he gets there and win one.I wouldn't be so quick to say 'he can't'. I don't think that THE KICK made THE DIFFERENCE. Not putting in Henry for the las 10 minutes of the game with us was a firing offense. And he was fired as soon as the season ended. The wind didn't really take that kick though, that was a shank-job.
I’ve read some posts saying we shouldn’t have been in the position for Manningham sideline catch or David Tyree’s helmet catch or the Seahawks being able to get the ball back with less than 30 secs left in the 4th. The Pats should’ve put the dagger in their hearts from the beginning.
These Super Bowl games should have been put away, essentially.
You realize we could easily point out plays that did not go our way that would have resulted in 2 or 3 more SBs as well? These things tend to even out.
It’s not that we shouldn’t have been, it’s that the things that put us in that position created the issue, not the resulting play.I’ve read some posts saying we shouldn’t have been in the position for Manningham sideline catch or David Tyree’s helmet catch or the Seahawks being able to get the ball back with less than 30 secs left in the 4th. Big the standard of out playing every team in every game beyond the scope of it coming down to one play is an unrealistic standard. All true, except what I bolded. It was team-wide (& in some cases game official-influenced) futility, not just Brady, though he obviously wasn't blameless either.

He's not a winner. That's a fact. Therefore not an elite qb. I don't care what anyone says.If Lamar was going to improve as a passer, he would have done it already. He’s almost 30 years old.
Reports about him staying up late playing video games, sleeping in meetings, and not being fully committed to training sound more likely than not based on his body of work.
When has Lamer ever been a pass first pocket passer? His passmg is setup by the running game which typically leads the NFL. When it doesn’t the offense goes to ****Lamar is an excellent pass-first, in the packet QB. As with Maye, is he also a serious threat to run the ball. He is forced to run more that he should because of his lack of enough other options.
The primary issue is for BAL to get better support in his receiver options. Maye has 10 receiver options (6 WR's, 2 TE's and 2 RB's) and we think that we need a couple of more: #3 RB, 3rd TE, and FB. How many does Lamar have? He does have Andrews, Flowers and Bateman; but he needs more.
As far as free agency and cap resources, they don't have any serious issues other than their need to re-sign Lauderman. They have $75M additional cap space available by restructuring 4 top players.
The answer is no. Lamar is one read guy and rely's on teams selling out on his gimmicks to open up the field for passing. All of this makes me wonder if Lamar would have been successful if drafted by the Patriots. Brady was Bill's preferred style of QB. Lamar is a different style of QB. His skillset does not suit every organization.
Maybe they (Bill & Lamar) would not have gotten along. Also, Lamar would not have seen the field in 2018.
I'll allow you to take a mulligan on that one.Lamar is an excellent pass-first, in the packet QB.
I think so.I'm less decisive when knowing who to point at in the Ravens, but, to the point of developing a pocket passer and referencing examples like Allen and Mahomes: who are the coaches who have developed a routine that teaches pocket presence?
Not asking rhetorically, but moreso wondering: is this level of coaching an extreme rarity in the NFL?
