OT: What happened to Trevor Lawrence?

FIFY. The Colts ruined Luck in a historically embarrassing and bad fashion. Those who say Andrews brought in his own injuries omit that a good organization can coach that out of you.

****hole organization.
It’s funny how many fans think QB is some magical creature that controls the entire fate of a billion dollar franchise and that the quality of the coaches and team around said QB play no part.

Blind hero worship… just odd.

I said nothing about Goff’s draft status, nor does it matter.

Once the draft ends, draft status is as irrelevant as a zodiac sign.
If the talent is there then it doesn't go away after the draft. I said Goff's ceiling was higher than Mills because it was. Not revisionist history. There was a good reason why Goff was seen as 1OA that year and Mills is nothing more than a project.

Draft status doesn’t equate to talent… especially at QB where the majority of “talent” is cerebral.

Nobody wanted Goff, he was considered damaged goods. The Lions picked him off the scrap heap in a salary dump by the Rams and made him a reclamation project.

His draft class peer Carson Wentz is still sitting on the scrap heap. Both guys were taken high in a year where there were no great QB draft prospects, it was considered a weak QB draft class so teams reached.

Disagree

Goff played in a Super Bowl with the Rams after leading them to one of the best offenses in the league. Mills was given the starters role, sucked, benched, and likely will never be named a starter again. No chance he will be a bridge QB.

Irrelevant. They were picked at the top of the class for a reason.

Jarmarcus Russel and Ryan Leaf say hi.

Nick Foles beat Tom Brady, Eli beat him twice.. it’s a team sport and you believe in hero worship.

So was David Carr…

I said the other day that QB's with high upside who never realize their talent are a dime a dozen.

That's not really the discussion though. Mills like Milton is nothing more than a project and likely will never be anything more than that. You don't want a project as your bridge QB.

Bill is .426 as a HC with one playoff ass kicking post Brady. Explain that.
So was David Carr…
Still picked at the top of the class for a reason.

You got your panties in a twist when I said Bailey Zappe wasn't an NFL level QB so maybe sit QB evaluation topics out.

Draft status doesn’t mean anything after the draft ends… nothing. Only how you play matters.

He’s got 26 starts, entering year 5, he’s nothing like Milton. He could improve, but in the meantime he could get you 64% passing, maybe if he gets a smidge better 2 TDs for every 1 interception. Like most QB’s he’d look a lot better on a great team than a league worst one which is what the Texans were when he started. Like I said… bridge QB.

Team.

QB’s are a part of team, not apart from team.

Tom passed for 500 yards and 3 TD’s in the game he lost to Nick Foles. The SB weeks ago shows how much a QB needs offensive line. You’d have to be a fool to think every QB doesn’t need a team.

No I didn’t,.

Saying “anyone but Mac” wasn’t a ringing endorsement for Zappe. I literally started the hashtag… #anyonebutmac

You have comprehension problems.

There is a correlation between how well you're playing in college and your draft status.

Mills was drafted as a project and Milton is a project right now. They could become something more or they might not. They're not leaders and that's what you need in a bridge. An experienced guy who understands the position and can teach the younger players how things work.

I'd still take Jacoby as a bridge over Mills. Brissett wasn't much on the field last season but he was a good mentor for Maye.

Bill and the Patriots stopped winning when Brady left. Coincidence? I don't think so. In that case there's one player meant everything to that team including the coach by his own admission.

Why did BB draft Jones if he was so terrible?

After you're drafted nothing matters except how you play. You can dance around the language all you want.

Mills was a high 3rd round pick, two picks removed from the 2nd round... Milton was a 6th round pick.

By your own silly value system these two are not alike. Moreover I wasn't advocating for the Patriots to hire Davis Mills, I said if I was a GM looking for a bridge QB with upside he would be a good hire next offseason.

Agree, Mills is a younger Brissett but Jacoby's mentorship was good for Maye and Milton.

Considering I never suggested the Pats sign Mills this is a big nothing burger.

They went to the playoffs in 2021, the year BB had total control taken from him. Since collaboration they have plummeted.
Your talent doesn't go away after the draft.
Talent and draft position aren't mutually exclusive. This is a silly argument.
Why did BB draft Jones if he was so terrible?
Jonathan and Wolf took over personnel. BB had a voice but he didn't want Mac. This was reported, the same way BB wanted to pay Jakobi Meyers and the collaboration wanted a recently injured Juju instead.

You ignore reported stories that don't push your BB hating narrative.
