2 seasons. (+200)

I am thinking about opening the casino a month early just to take these bets!
Is that for a chemical castration? Need odds for the machete one.

Commissioner Patsy says he needs to be suspended at least until Oct 16, and back by Nov 13 . That puts us around 8 games.

About the same odds for N'Keal winning MVP.

Report: Deshaun Watson adds Cleveland steamer to massage routine

I can't believe some people here are parsing and rationalizing this compulsive abuser's behavior. One or two incidents, maybe. But dozens upon dozens? Sixty-six massage therapists over 17 months and 24 sexual misconduct suits? "Houston, we've got a problem." Duh. Watson doesn't deserve football or need it except, perhaps, to afford the best psychotherapist in America.

I think the overturn of Roe versus Wade by SCOTUS and the resultant backlash about women being denied right over their own body ratchets up the pressure on the NFL to send a very strong signal that they will not tolerate NFL players mistreating women.
Now the arbitrator might feel differently but if this were Goodwill, I am sure the suspension would be at least for a year (as it should be).

Its pretty obvious Watson was really pushing the line with these women to satisfy his own physical needs. He went way way overboard...maybe not in a criminal sense but in a moral and ethical sense.

If I were a Brown's fan I might actually want at least a full year suspension as that would give him the best chance to put it mostly behind him.

I just got an alert. Radioactivity has been detected in this thread. Proceed to take your belongings with you, make one last post, and exit before the lockdown.

The Watson hearing will be happening as Snyder is subpoenaed to appear before the Congressional hearing this week.

Goodell got hammered last week for giving Snyder a slap on the wrist. Watson is F'ed. Goodell has no choice but to seek the most extreme punishment he can muster. It'll be interesting to see how much the NFLPA pushes back comparing how the NFL handled the Snyder, Kraft, Jones cases w/ Watson's. Could they request documents from the WFT investigation into Snyder.

What a perfectly glorious mess for Goodell. No matter what he does he comes out looking terrible.

Keep in mind a judge decides the penalty initially, although Goodrll still has the final say.

If you all were Baker Mayfield how would you handle this situation?
Right now, he's asked for a trade...

Cleveland is over a barrel right now... watson out for the year, potentially... they got Jacoby Brissette in the fold, who's fine as a spot starter... not sure you want him running the full season though...

So, if you are Mayfield, whats your play? stick to your guns and leave via trade, assuming they can find a trading partner this late in the game? Or just play out your final year for 18m on the IR (funny how that shoulder never seemed to heal, isn't it? ) and enter next year as a free agent?

Of would you possibly say I'll stay this year, if you double my salary... 36m fully guaranteed for one year... the brownies have 42m in cap space, so they can afford the cost... then hit free agency?

People can complain about Bakers performance, but I find it hard to doubt how tough he is.

My understanding is NFL submits what they want (suspension, punishment, etc.) to the hearing officer (ex-Judge) based on their investigation. The NFLPA counters based on whatever arguments they'll make (precedent, how owners were treated, etc.).

If the ex-judge finds there is no violation of PP, it ends there. No one has the right to appeal.

If the judge finds a violation, she can impose whatever penalty she deems appropriate (what NFL or NFLPA proposed or her own). At that point, either side can appeal. The appeal is heard by Goodell, lol.

So unless she finds no violation (doubtful), or somehow both NFL & NFLPA agree on suspension (doubtful), this is ending on Goodell's lap.

I think Garroppolo shows that injury concerns would lower future appeal, best not to play that card.

As above, I doubt Mayfield's on CLE very much longer. The team is all-in on the new guy, even if it means playing Brissette for a season and eating some or all of Mayfield's salary. Things should play out over the next few weeks. They won't want him around for training camp, and whatever team taking him will want him for the start of training camp. We'll know a lot more about the new guy's status in a week or so.

The worst case scenario for CLE's owner is Mayfield stays in CLE and lights it up, it just makes things rougher for the new guy once he gets in.

Looks like CLE-SEA trade for Baker is heating up. Regardless, he won't play another snap for CLE.

yeah, i agree that Mayfield will get his request to be traded... and Seattle makes sense... Carolina maybe, but is Mayfoeld that much better than Darnold? Not enough i think... maybe houston, maybe the lions, maybe eagles...

From page two of the petition filed on Monday: “It is now known that in many of Watson’s multiple massage interactions, more than massage therapy occurred — indeed, with at least thirty different women, the ‘more’ that occurred included unwanted sexual advances and outright sexual assault by Watson. Each of those thirty plus women, most of which are complete strangers to one another, experienced strikingly similar conduct from Watson.”

Based on the lawsuit filed on Monday, at least six more lawsuits against Watson are possible.
