OT: Watson to Brownies

According to my friend the Browns fan their fans aren't happy at all with this trade, even though many aren't big Mayfield fans. According to him they thought they got lucky when they lost the team to Baltimore and weren't forced to root for Ray Lewis and now they're stuck with this Watson dope. He also mentioned some incident with Watson in college when he had to be restrained by the refs before he did something stupid vs Ohio State. I know he's a diehard Browns fan so I asked him what he's going to do now. He wasn't sure yet.

I like giving the poor guy grief about the Browns. I remember calling him multiple times after Ernest Byner fumbled away a playoff game many moons ago. All I would do was call him and say "Ernest Byner" and then hang up. I finally stopped after a while. This is so bad now that even I don't have the heart to bust his chops.

The Browns deserve this. Imagine being a fan of a team that went 1-31 over two seasons and it somehow wasn’t rock bottom.

How Cleveland Browns-like would it be to make one of the most expensive trades in NFL history, guarantee Watson the most money in NFL history, and then have him convicted of a crime and not see the field for like the next two to three years if ever?

Doubt he gets convicted on a he said /she said case when beyond a reasonable doubt is the measure. He could however, be suspended for an entire season as a result. What a waste of resources by the Browns if that happens.

I am not saying he would even be indicted. I am just saying it would be totally in the tradition of the Cleveland Browns for Watson to end up in jail and not play a down for years.

This guy was after the money. Plain and simple.

And Fakkkkkkkkkk the Browns are SB contenders.

I share your anger Pats fans.
The Browns are SB contenders? Not sure that phrase computes.

Why would the Browns and all the other potential Watson suitors go through all the trouble to get Watson?

Other teams were also in the running. Schefter tweeted out that the NY Giants were signing him. One of the rare times that Ive seen Schefter wrong. We go right back to little Bob Kraft getting caught in a prostitution sting with no repercussions. More than likely Rog Goodell will get an invite to his wedding. But, now its time to go the extra mile to nail Watson.

I just dont see it. Its fake news and in the 11th hour Watson walks a free man.

Watson has a LOT of money and Lawyers. He's gonna walk and settle AKA pay off the last complainers and enjoy most of his new money OR end up blowing it on cocaine and happy endings, probably both. Maybe he might even be not as dumb as Kraft to get caught doing it this time.

If the Brownies allow that to happen, the Haslems should be given the same treatment as the Ceausescu's were given by the good citizens of Romania...

I don't know if I'd take it that far, but I will say that the Browns organization is still a clown show.

He had a very good game the last time I saw him (a Pats loss) but there's no way that Watson is worth that much.
Definitely seems excessive but when your franchise has been a flaming dumpster fire for so long you get desperate.

At least Watson is a really good QB who can win you a SB. If they end up winnning one SB with him it will be worth it either way.
