A good friend of mine once slammed his putter against his golf cart after a horrible putting display. His putter broke in half and one of the pieces bounced back at him and hit a major in his leg. He almost bled to death on the course.
I thought that had to be a once in a lifetime unlucky act until one of his surgeons who helped save his life told him that was the third time the doctor had to deal with a golf club/artery injury

I'm only funny rating that because I assume he is alright.
Ernie's yips are back in full force. Thats all it is.When I see a professional sportsman do this my first thoughts in todays age is that he has been nobbled by spot fixing syndicates. i.e People that bet on events happening, like how many shots on first hole, how many putts on first hole. blah blah
It's like butt fumble
Forget doubling down on the beers. I need my special flask when something like that happens..Thats never happened to me.

Ouch!!
A few years ago I was putting with a buddy of mine who is a decent golfer. He 5 putted a hole but his fifth putt was with my putter. On the fourth putt I heard a helicopter swooshing noise which happened to be his putter flying over the tree line into the next fairway which broke into two pieces upon landing.
At least Ernie kept his cool.
My old man was famous for slinging his clubs into the water. Went through lots of TVs because he'd break the screen (was a hardcore gambler), too.
Luckily, I'm a bit more patient the majority of the time--although I still have my moments and it is something that I constantly have to work at.
Yea same. I was pretty good in my 20s and early 30s then kids 1,2 and 3 came. I got back into it 5 years ago and needed to totally redo my game as I'm in ok shape but just not as flexible. Was very frustrating .It wasn't until I was in my 40's that I got my "golf" temper under control. Can be such an addicting and frustrating game at times. Now if my day goes down hill, and it often does, I just go for the shot of the day or shot of a lifetime. Try to get a hole in one on a par 3 instead playing it safe or something.

If you don't play/practice 3 times a week you have no right to get pissed. Unless you have god-given ability you will suck. Accept it.
