Wow they really went to 4 years. He better stay healthy.
Miami had no choice. He got his contract. Just over $50MM aav
Miami had no choice.
The Miami Super Bowl window opened last season and they choked it away. Hill, basically is the catalyst that makes the Dolphins offense the force that it is, has his contract more or less expire after 2025. So, realistically, in my eyes this season is make or break for the Dolphins. I seriously doubt that Hill (who turns 31) will not want more money after this season.
Agreed BUT… honest is honest and Tua has OWNED us . It’s ****ing infuriatingTua is an average overall QB…..take Tyreek Hill out of the equation and Tua returns to mediocrity. Hill will make ANY QB look elite….
Tua is also one more (maybe 2) concussion away from early retirement……Doofin overpaid heavily for a guy they were getting ready to cut or replace a few years ago before Tyreek Hill saved his career!!!
its crazy... the packers paid Love even more than what tua got... based on what was really one half season of decent playI’m not sure how they could pay so much guaranteed cash to him considering the injury risk.
It seems like there’s no longer any separation between good and great QBs anymore with these deals. If you’re a top 16 guy, or even just have the potential to be a top 16 guy, when you’re up for your extension you will just automatically be the next highest paid QB in history or very close to it. Seems idiotic but we can only blame the owners.
To me, Love proved how much more valuable playing is than sitting and watching. He was ass until he got like ten games under his belt.its crazy... the packers paid Love even more than what tua got... based on what was really one half season of decent play
he sat for two years... did that help him overall? there are guys who play and win right away, and there are guys who sit for a year or two then ball out... and the reverse is true, with guys sucking ass in both scenariosTo me, Love proved how much more valuable playing is than sitting and watching. It seems like the debate over how long the franchise would be set back if Maye flames out was the wrong concern. Contracts like this highlight how long a team is out of super bowl contention if they draft a QB that is good, but not elite. The Giants are a good example of where teams are loathe to start over again and sign up for another four years of mediocrity. The other takeaway for Patriots fans is that you shouldn't spend big money on WR until you are sure that you have the QB. Otherwise you are trapped into keeping players like Tua and Jones.Miami had no choice.

Multi- generational wealthhe sat for two years... did that help him overall? there are guys who play and win right away, and there are guys who sit for a year or two then ball out... and the reverse is true, with guys sucking ass in both scenarios
sitting certainly didn't hurt Love's ability to get generational wealth in one single contract extension...
