Came across this in terms of what's going on with him down in Miami:

They apparently remain at a standoff and given his injury history and his inconsistent play late in the year, they're likely far apart $$-wise. Although I haven't dug into it all that deeply as of late.

Im guessing he wants 30-40m a year, miami want him at 20-25...

players always win (unless you are le'veon bell, who gets to end his once promising, hof worthy career with the jete)

I feel like with Daniel Jones averaging $40 million, he deserves that or above:

Here are the average QB salaries:

But as you said, the question then is how much above that he's looking for.

You're talking QB prices from 2+ years ago. Now its between 50-60m/yr for anyone in the top 15. I would be shocked if he agrees to anything below 50m/yr.

Don't blame him with his injury history.

Problem is determining the guarantees with a guy who might very well say 'F it' and not play another down after his next concussion.

thanks for the heads up on the qb salaries... really haven't been paying attention since that particular issue isn't one we have to worry about for a few more years...

He's definitely better than Daniel Jones. But I can't blame the Dolphins for not wanting to tie up long-term money to Tua, just in case. Seems like they could just do a short-term contract and kick the can down the road for two years.

I wouldn't pay him. That said, I keep thinking these insane numbers are coming back to earth, and I keep being wrong.

I don’t recommend that players hold it in. The last time I did that I let out an enormous fart when I thought nobody was around and the hottest woman I’ve ever seen was right there, shaking in disgust.

If I was the Dolphins I would look at other QB options.

I'd be holding in too after what Lawrence got. Dude straight up wrecked the QB market.

What's Tua's record against the Pats? Have they beaten him yet? Seems like he deserves every penny he can get.

I'm going to butcher the poem but here goes:

Here I sit lonely hearted tried to **** and only farted.

Beats the time I had to fart so I took a chance and **** my pants.

0 post season wins entering year 5.
Cant play in the cold. Tua is 0 - 5 in games under 40 degrees.
14 INTs and 13 Fumbles last season.

Go ahead and pay him.
I think the Dolphins will flame out again when November hits. McDaniel refuses to address their glaring weaknesses on offense. They also don't have a defense. And after what happened with Lawrence, there's no way the Dolphins can pay him. There going to have to let him walk.

High flying teams that depend on ultra athletic playmakers usually get taken out by attrition. Whether it is injury or fatigue it doesn't take much to take away their advantage, especially against hungry teams in the playoffs.
