OT: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

Seriously, I've rarely had so much enjoyment as the last two weeks. Two weeks ago the Jets get taken out with nothing to show for their season.

And now Manning throws an interception to hand the Superbowl to the Saints, the undoubted greatest team and QB of the decade to the Patriots and Brady.

And Bill Polian has to go back to the rule book.

Re: Karma is a biatch Bill Polian

After >1 broadcasted Manning-Face, opponent DB's must play Blind-folded.
Any team whose moniker starts with "Co" is hearby incapable of offensive pass interference penalties.

HAHAHAHAHA. stealing from the words of the immortal Shaq, "Hey Billy...hows that @ss taste?"

OT: Classy colts' fans and The Who

I think the colts' fans are classy. They started a "congrats New Orleans Saints" thread and many heartfelt, honest statement of congratulations there.

When we lost to the Giants, I would never have congratulated them. It made me sick. Maybe there was a thread here though.

And I thought the Who were pretty good. Surprised I see so many people pan it. I was singing along and yes Daltry wasn't the same as the recording studio Daltry but the guy is almost 70. I thought they were good.

Re: OT: Karma is a biatch Bill Polian

Well at least this one is realistic and they are gonna be beeeeatcing and moaning about it too.

2 point plays are no longer reviewable, the call on the field stands.

I like this, atleast it is quasi realistic. good thinkin!

Re: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

I dont know about all that but Its the next best thing.

OT: On the Saints' on-sides kick

... apparently Sean Payton gave the refs a heads-up, telling them before the game not only that it was coming, but out of what kicking formation and where the kicker would be trying to place it.

Anyone know if this is common practice? If not, it was a brilliant move.

Re: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

I haven't felt this good about how a season ended since the 04 season, honestly. This could be huge for the Patriots, because losses like this devastate teams. I know the Patriots haven't been terrible since, but even they haven't been the same. Maybe if Indy can degress a bit the Pats can come up and who knows

Re: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

Not at all. But I do finally feel like the teams accomplishments should now be front and center and not overshadowed by some what have you done lately columnists.

Re: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

I agree, this was the 2nd best thing next to a Pats win. That pick 6 was one of the most exciting plays all year.

Between seeing Favre & Manning both piss games away in the past 2 weeks, this season ended on a high note even though the Pats lost.

The Pats didn't just lose, though; they got shellacked. And Brady threw 3 picks & fumbled in that game.

Re: It almost feels like we won the Superbowl

I actually got up and yelled when Porter picked off that pass. I can't remember the last time I did that when watching a game that the Pats were not involved in.

No more than Saint Dumpy fumbling it when he blabbered about "it's not going to be even close.." Time to eat CROW! :bricks:

So did I, I was dancing around the place and yelling, and I must admit I had a one finger salute each time they showed Manning's face.

Me too, Kontra. This is my fourth favorite SB ever after 36, 39 and 38. I have no idea what the fifth one is.

And you're on our forum after your "juggernaut" team choked the game away. What does that say about you?

It'll come in a year or so..

Kind of like Peyton in 2003. And as bad as Brady played that game, that was just the first time in his career he's been one and done, something Peyton's made a habit of his entire career.

"The next one." - Tom Brady

This is something only a top-tier coach would think of doing. It's a very smart move because it puts the refs on top of their game and know to look for whether it made the required 10 yards, and if it legally came back. BB has done this "notifying" before.
