Clutching grabbing is so common without a penalty. Happens a LOT. Not called very often. But it was deserved here for 2 reasons. It was sustained by Otamendi and the French player dove, knowing the ref "owed" the French a penalty.

You maybe have more historical /technical knowledge so I defer to what they NORMALLY do.
im just saying the ARG clearly fell down after an incidental contact that didn’t really impede him that much and they were both around the ball

the French guy was clearly jerked held like 3 times and fully impeded His path, and speed were both changed. He LIKELY also fell but you could argue at least one of those tugs pulled him off balance, so to me that is less clear than the ARG dive.

so to me it is more the fra guy deserved it more; …. based on optics, if not the technical or theatrical merits.
