Give the man some credit and spell his name correctly would you. It's unbecoming.

No. Dan Pees is absolute Pess. The only D-Cord in the league that runs a scheme that has the DBs line up 20 yards off the receiver on a 3rd and 2. I swear I don't know how BB has put with this guy. Bill must not like to fire employees.

20 yards? You know that's actually, like, 60 feet? That's half the football field.

And you call me high.

You're embarrassing yourself beyond reasonable comprehension.

LMAO im obv did not literally mean 20 yards. I'm trying to prove a point (how much cushion/respectt Pess soft ass defense give scrub receivers and make the AJ feeleys, Seneca Wallaces look like damn HOF). you deserve to be call high

how so? you sound like the typical modern pats fan. Kool-aid jugger/oblivious to the fact that this team hasn't accomplish ish since we lost its defensive mastermind Crenell. And I gurantee you it will not accomplish ish as long as pess is here. Same thing year in year out. This soft defense folds on the big stage.

If you listened to BB on weei this afternoon you would know its not pees' fault, thats why they changed personel the next week.

The man's surname is Pees.

I should hope that I sound like the typical modern PatsFan, enjoying the fruits of a successful decade, his team a perennial contender with a grasp on reality and the objectivity to realise that this current team, especially the defense was a work in progress before the season even started.

Was the defense magnificent during the time of Romeo? Yes it was. First point being look at the core players of that unit, how long they played with one another and the general talent level of that team. Perhaps we can bring back Charlie Weis too because the offense didn't choke under him in Superbowls. But I digress.

Blown coverages happen from time to time and it is quite possible to be outschemed and plays executed better by the opposition. Have the Patriots tried to counter the cushions that were given in the Broncos game? It certainly appears that way to me, despite the lack of quality opponents the past 2 victories.

Your holier than thou rhetoric has exposed a flimsy and often ridiculous point of view consistent with that of a troll.

Wow, it's amazing how when Dungy says something about a team you hate you all back him up.

I mean, I agree 100% with Dungy, but if he said what he said about any other team you guys would be all over him for it.
I don't know about that, the truth is the truth, and Dungy spoke it.

Reflexblue speaks the truth. Dungy was a worth adversary to the Patriots and his record speaks for itself.

I'm just saying for years on these boards, literally anything Dungy said was ripped.

Now, because he says it about a team and man you all hate.....he's "speaking the truth".

It's nice to see Pats fans not ripping Dungy but it's a bit hypocritical IMO.
That's a broad statement. Dungy is Dungy to me, the same as every other head coach or media pundit. If they have something worthwhile to say, listen and agree with your reasoning etc. If it's tripe, then deal with it as tripe.

obsess much?

sheesh

for years? how many Colt handles have you burned out on this board?

And I'm sure Belichick is well-loved on all Colts boards and if he said anything nasty about the Titans everyone would continue to disagree with him.

Give me a ******* break.

just identify yourself you coward and stop playing coy...and BTW,when you sign up under a new handle you START OVER.

This HAS to be that obsessive whack job Indy Colt....as we all know...IndyColt 1 ,IndyColt 2, Indy Fan1 etc....it's all the same crazy.

We play the Colts in a few weeks...come back then and cry...in the meantime, why don't you and Mommy/Sister go take in a few tractor pulls...preferably in an unvented barn.

romeo a mastermind ?

its easy to look like a mastermind when you have

ted washington best NT to every play the game

seymour best 3-4 DE in the NFL

willy mac all time leader in post season sack's

ty law he was the best all around corner in the game at the time

harrison HOF... S

tedy b mike vrabel and rosie colvin all in there prime

pees has

green wright burgees TBC Bodden

not the same talent that romeo had

and if romeo was such a mastermind tell me way the browns D got worst every year he was there

he had D'Qwell Jackson and Andra Davis two of the better ILB in the game

Kamerion Wimbley who had 11 sack's as a rookie

yet hes D was ranked 16th in 2005... 27th in 2006... 30th in 2007... 26th in 2008

that dose not sound like a mastermind to me

the only real knock on pees is the team is not geting sack's will you cant get sack's when you dont have any passrusher's

and blitzing more will not help they did that to start off the raven's game and they still could not get to flacco and Derrick Mason got all most a 100 yerd's on them in the first half

just because the DB's are better this year vs last year dose not mean they are the best in the NFL

if they blitz 5 and 6 the corners will get beat like they got beat in the raven's game and in the denver game

Re: ryan and dungy go back and forth

I'll be honest here, I don't like Rex Ryan because of his mouth and because of who he coaches but I do hope that he is fired or quits soon because I think he will make a very good head coach and I don't want that to be with the Jets.

Beaking news: Rex Ryan reached his peak 6 games ago when he won the "Super Bowl". It takes a lot more than a few innovative defensive schemes to be a good head coach. He doesn't have it and as his personna starts to wear thin, he will be less and less effective.

Bombast plays awful when you lose. It's particularly bad for team attitude as it easily turns into self-destruction - and Ryan doesn't have the tools to stop it from being that on the Jets. He is who he is and who he is is his father's son - and his dad was also a mediocre head coach.

You're right in that there is a seriously negative attitude about Dungy on this board. But there's bias against serious rivals on every message board; this is no different. Personally, I like Tony Dungy.

I dunno. I think there's always been more underlying respect here for Dungy and his football abilities than people let on (Jon Gruden's gone a long way on Tony's "other" SB win BTW). IMHO, the problem is as follows:

If you're not a fan of his team, i think it's fair to say that Tony Dungy can come across as just the tiniest, tiniest little bit sanctimonious and holier-than-thou , so it was hard to give him respect when he was trying to beat the Pats to the Super Bowl year after year. I'm not saying that's a "noble" human reaction, but it sure is a real one and, I think, understandable.

I think now seeing Dungy go back and forth with Rodney every week with the mutual respect they clearly have for each other helps a lot. Plus, he's not trying to beat our heads in any more.

I can easily see, for example, how fans of other teams can take some of the traits that Pats fans admire in Bill Belichick (his stony public demeanor, sarcasm with the press, tight lipped, etc.) and turn them into evidence of a personal or personality flaw. I just think it's part of being a fan.

Finally, time heals all wounds. Lombardi and Brown weren't very popular among their opponents in their days either.

Good points all, but also, it is important to remember that Dungy is a ****.

If Rex was more intelligent, he would have made a great investment banker.

I'm scratching my head thinking about other industries that a person could be so overtly and explicitly acting out a brutalized childhood and still find himself in one of the top dozen jobs.

And what's funny is how the NYC media is just now starting to say things like, "wow, he's got a touch of arrogance!" as if that wasn't painfully evident right from the start.
