OT: Russell Wilson traded to Denver

So Wilson is $19 mil this year and $22 mil next year against the cap, which is a pretty sweet situation for 2 years. Does Denver have the roster to win it all in that time before Wilson needs to re-up? Especially with no draft capital, I'm gonna say no.

The amount that Denver gave up for Wilson is absolutely insane.
Fant, two 1st round picks, 2 Second round picks.

I wonder if Seattle is targetting Willis in the draft.

I don't really want to defend Wilson, after he literally threw away a SB, but he finished below .500 once in 10 seasons. He's one of only four quarterbacks in the history of the league to have a career passer rating over 100. He's only 33... he may have 5 (or more) elite seasons left.
Speaks volumes about being drafted into the right situation, doesn't it.

Good point, after the combine, his stock has really risen and now I think he's going to be the top qb taken. If Pitt wanted Willis, I would think it's in their best interest to get in front of Seattle.

Meh.

Not too worried.

Chiefs still have the best overall roster in the AFC. The team with the least amount of question marks.

I've always thought Wilson was a notch below the top tier guys. He was never as good as prime Manning, Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers. The eye test doesn't really match the salary or reputation.

He's still a great QB. Just not top tier (Mahomes, Brady--if he returns, Rodgers, Allen).

Seattle wasn't going to trade him in the conference. I can't blame them.

Not to mention Daniel Jones and Saquon 'No Knees' Barkley isn't exactly similar compensation to what Denver sent back in players.

Stidham to Seattle for Denvers #1 pick?

I'll simplify it for you... Tannehill sucks.

That means basically nothing. Did you even actually read the post you originally responded to?

I see no reason why Pats can't give BUF a run in the AFCE. We know from experience each year starts over, each year you have go prove it. If they think it'll just happen because Allen is at QB, it's trouble. We know BB will be re-tooling his D to specifically face the Bills and other similar style offenses in the conference. Look at Bengals this year, they gained confidence and went and took it.

The last two matchups this past season are a reason.

Actually this is great! Chiefs can now be knocked down and might not even win their division let alone get to the AFCG !!

Congrats to Seattle. This is one of the best trades of all time (or worst depending on which side you sit.

Denver isn't one player away from winning in the next two years, not close.

After two ugly years, Denver gets to start over, presumably with a new coach and a new GM.

Yes.

You're saying Tannehill's mediocrity and horrendous playoff performances don't disqualify the Titans as a top tier team. I disagree.

I've got the Chiefs and the Bills as clearly the two best teams in the AFC so my top tier is only those two teams. The Titans are somewhere in the mix of second tier teams, which includes the Ravens who you left off your original list. The Ravens at least have a quarterback with a very high ceiling.

The Colts have a similar problem as the Titans... a quarterback holding them back. If they can upgrade from Wentz then they could easily win that division. I don't think the Titans will see another AFCCG with Tannehill at quarterback.

They were the #1 seed in this year's AFC, even being without most of their offensive weaponry for a big chunk of the season.. That's pretty much a textbook example of a top tier team.

Use your head rather than letting your biases make you look silly.
