I don't know why this would surprise anyone. I assumed right along that barring another incident or arrest that the suspension would end up being only four games based on the wording of the original announcement.

Friggin Goodell needs his head examined. When you have HOF QBs and other influential people in the NFL saying that Ben shouldn't have his sentence reduced, you should head their advice.

Goodell looks like a fool for having reduced it..

I for one cannot say if he deserved a reduced suspension or a suspension at all considering I wasn't there the night the incident happened. Apparentlly the posters above were there that night in the bar and saw everything happened. I wish people would stop thinking every word that comes out of the media is the "truth and nothing but the truth". Just my 2 cents.

I really dont think he killed his wife..but thats a topic for a different day, many years ago.


I dont care if Ben is only out 4 games, they steelers are worse off with him. he really isnt that good of a qb.

I think chances are he did but there's always the chance he didn't. I rather just not judge someone on what some one else says. Some people like their mind made up for them, I'm just not one of them.

Until it's proven, he's presumed innocent. He might have pulled a scumbag move with a girl and got way too aggressive with her. But it hasn't exactly been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he actually raped her.

I feel strongly about rapists. Rapelisberger has actually been charged THREE separate times with rape and sexual assault by different women. On other occasions he used similar tactics in physically bullying women from having sex with him and blocking their way out. The guards with Rapelisberger were his friends and were cops off duty (since fired), the restaurant videotapes were mysteriously deleted before they could be reviewed, the only cop who saw the tapes immediately retired, and the bathroom was bleached before the investigation could be made.

Goodell's punishment system makes zero sense whatsoever. This suspension reduction is another in a long line of poor judgement on his part.

Big Ben gets 4 games after being accused of raping 3 different girls, while Santonio Holmes gets 4 games for substance abuse?

The media never should have reported this as a 6-game suspension. It was a 4-game suspension that could have been increased to 6 in the unlikely scenario that the player continued to mess up. These suspensions are always set up this way so that they can later be reduced to make it seem as if the player had reformed themselves. The media has to stop biting this cheese--it's flat-out bad journalism.

I strongly urge all members of this thread to seek out and read the crime report. Big Ben raped an intoxicated girl and he knows it.

3 separate accusations of rape and sexual assault, from multiple women, is a clear violation of the personal conduct policy.

To "reduce" the suspension at this point, is ridiculous, especially given the punishments Goodell has handed out with the last half dozen players he has punished if you look at their violations.

That is 100% correct. That is why, when he is in at QB, they lean much more heavily on their running game. It always seemed like they wanted him to throw the ball as little as possible

Where there's smoke there's fire. I normally reserve judgement if somebody has been charged for the first time but I think it's pretty clear that the guy is a scumbag and should be made an example of.​
