One of the best to do it. His voice always was synonymous with me with the 2000’s Patriots dynasty, called so many great moments. Raiders divisional round, Bledsoe AFC title game, the Willie 4th and goal stuff, Peyton’s 4 pick game in the snow, Super Bowl 38.

Sad to see him pass. The older I get, the younger 78 looks. Didn’t realize he was sick. Very underrated broadcaster in my opinion, better than many out there today. Agree that to me he is the voice of dynasty 1. RIP and condolences to his family.

"This is the Patriots season on the line. Lookkkssss goood." -Kick to tie the snow game

"The Patriots have come in to Pittsburgh and done the unthinkable." -Calling the remaining seconds of the 01 AFC title game

"Patriots are looking for a second SB title in three years. From 38 yards out....looks good!!! -SB 38 with 8 seconds remaining.

Damn man that sucks. All the voices are going away. Life sucks in so many ways it's not even funny. Remarkable voice and he will be missed.

RIP.

Sorry to hear it, seemed like a good guy, good broadcaster.

That sucks, sorry to hear. Getting old sucks as well. As much vitriol as there can be online, here’s to each fan here…..

Obviously it was the team more but I thank you for your part in many many goosebumps. They still Pop up from time to time when you go back and listen. RIP

Amen to that.

He should’ve never been replaced in 2004 by Jim Nantz. I still have no idea why they made the switch, but Nantz was boring for years. Sticking Romo in the booth forced him to up his game.

As good as an announcer he was he never tried to be the star and make it about himself like so many announcers.

I always liked Gumbel. Lost my father to cancer some years ago - cancer is terrible. RIP Greg Gumbel

I enjoyed the dynamic he had with Phil Simms. They had a real love-hate thing going on.

He was part of the last pairings I thoroughly enjoyed. Gumbel and Simms. Madden and Summerall. Enberg and Olsen. Michaels, Dierdorf, Gifford. Madden and Michaels.

Kinda surprised that nobody's mentioned anything about his brother, Bryant.
