Exactly. Bledsoe was still a top 15 Qb but his 1000yd runnner in Robert Edwards goes down before the 99 season. Glenn always hurt but had a nice 1999 season but Drew was sacked 55 times. Coats starting to wear down. ****ty drafts. Not good

Bledsoe wasn't as much of a Zampeze QB as he was an Al Davis QB, both of whom were Sid Gilman disciples... Anticipation & timing were never Drew's best attributes, to say the least...

Bledsoe was erratic and held the ball like he was a statue. Cements shoes slow so yeah he was a sitting duck for sacks.

Geno Cappelletti summed it up precisely when Brady stepped in "Brady is an anticipatory passer and Bledsoe is a reactionary passer."

I know people like to bash Drew but he will always hold a special place in my heart. He was "thee QB" when I was a kid. I was a little kid when he got drafted but it seemed like the Patriots went from complete afterthought in New England to something exciting when Parcells and Drew came here. That 1996 season I was 9 years old and all in at that point. My best friend's grandfather was a season ticket holder and I remember going to a game that year on those cold bleachers and having the time of my life in my Drew Bledsoe jersey. He wasn't the best QB in the world but he was pretty good at times and he seems to get crapped on a lot basically because he was the guy before the guy.
