That one was tricky. I ended up graying it out just because the goal was also not to encourage people to ignore more threads. It was just meant to just make it more convenient, and it took me a while, design-wise, to figure out where it was going to go. I thought about doing three dots and having it in a dropdown, but I also didn't want to add additional steps for people. I wanted it to be one { click } and fade out, kind of like the mute function. But that's a good call on the fact that being grayed out normally means unavailable. I added the hover effect to try and get around it but as you said, mobile doesn't reflect that as well. I also tried gray (not grayed out), but it still didn't look right, especially on the darker background.I haven't used it much yet but I didn't realize it was a thing so yes definitely I haven't liked having to go into a thread to ignore it. I often ignore after getting sick of reading it for the 10th time (after remembering it's degenerated into Hatfield and McCoy bickering about some random irrelevant thing -- so a useful way to just Nope out of it).
One reason I haven't used it is because it appears greyed out for me so I wasn't sure if that meant it was nonfunctional or something. But it seems when I hover it on desktop it becomes non greyed out. But on mobile, hovering isn't really a thing so it's not super helpful. Greyed out usually indicates option not available, so I'm not a huge fan of that design. But I can get used to it.
Thanks for all you do to continually improve the site!
With it not grayed out, it also stood out a lot more and made that block look a lot busier, especially on mobile (and I still need to adjust those for that). But I still wanted it to be there for anyone who wanted it, while not drawing a ton of attention to it day-to-day.
I also liked the way Invision handled that block (the number of posts/views) compared to Xenforo, and wanted to dress it up a little more compared to how it looked previously. At least it looks a little more modern now. It was definitely a little challenging, and I'm sure this will probably continue to evolve a little bit as it always tends to.
