I have to imagine from a travel perspective they'll have to break the season into quarters where the London team will play 4 home, 4 away, 4 home and 4 away. It will really suck for the teams in that division having to go over every year. Putting that team in the east of either conference probably makes the most sense. The NFC east isn't getting split up. Maybe the Bills make the move and it's a no-brainer but as others have said most likely the Jags. That would likely mean the Dolphins get shifted to the AFCS to even out the divisions.

I do think that unfortunately a London team would be in the AFC East, for the reasons you gave.

One thing -- the games will start earlier than games do in the US. That takes a LITTLE bit of the sting out of the travel.

The Bills have a new owner who says he never will move them. I think if they do put a team in London, it'll either be Jaguars, Buccaneers or an expansion franchise. But whatever, it's a horrible idea.

I was thinking the same thing scheduling-wise but doesn't that suck for the London team too? Sure some of them are young guys who wouldn't mind the jet-set lifestyle.

Jet set lifestyles are great when you're flying to Miami or Vegas to have a great time. Otherwise it's just plain old business travel, and business travel sucks.

Also, the idea that this can't both be a smart business decision and ****ty for the fans is wrong. These are the same fans that gleefully watch 4 hours of commercials with 8 minutes of gameplay sprinkled in.

If they add any more teams or go to an 18 game schedule, how will that scheduling work? Would it be playing twice against the same place finishers in the two divisions you play?

Just look at scheduling. We have a great system now. 18 games is simply not going to work, I think there would be a strike before that. The season is brutal and players and teams make to December falling into pieces.

If they want to extend the regular season 2 byes for each team would be a better idea, there would be probably 2 weeks during the regular with less games but that is totally acceptable. That and an improvement over the IR rules like allowing the designation to return for more than 1 player would probably improve the product on the field by the end of regular season and playoffs.

Don't understand why they don't just start up a subsidiary league based in England rather than stick one team in the nfl. You don't need to make it wildly successful overnight. Start with a few team and let it grow naturally.

Been there, tried that, but maybe they would call it "UK Europe" instead of "NFL Europe."

Yeah, that would be a good strategy to kill the idea. The logistics of setting the schedule today are already daunting. That would make them darn near impossible. Good idea!
