OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Yes, a fifth rounder is the same as a second rounder...

What do you think is going to happen to Tampa with all the aging veterans that you all have? Pierre Paul -32, Ndakong Suh -34, Brown -33, Gronk - 33; Lavonte David - 31
Same that happens when all those aging vets on the pats leave? Or any team in the NFL? So no team can ever replace aging vets except the Pats?

Not a fan of the Barrett extension, not aggressively looking to upgrade the secondary, and the silly Kyle Trask throwaway pick. Hope they still have enough funds for Godwin.
That's not much of a grapple. Barrett is in his prime so I don't see that as bad value even if you believe funds could have been spent elsewhere.

In terms of the secondary, Bowles is a heavy blitz DC. Tampa's philosophy is front 7 first. Hard to argue with that given their front is the best in the NFL. Their secondary if not ravaged by injuries would have been adequate with that front and the explosive offense. They just can't tread water anymore because the injuries are on both sides now.

You are assuming Brady is going to play until 50, which is not guaranteed. In fact, he's been talking more and more about spending time with family. And Edelman recently said that Giselle would never let him play past 45. In any event, Jason Licked's track record suggests that he's incompetent. It was Brady who recruited all Tampa's FA of the past year. You'd be a fool to think otherwise. Without Brady what will you guys amount to? There is no QB of the future there. They are going to revert to what they've always been - the Suckaneers.

Speaking for myself only, I am a Brady fan. Once he does retire, I am done following the NFL. I hate today's product with a passion. I hate the rules, the expanded season, etc.

Brady very well might play to his late 40s. There has been rumblings of another extension at seasons end which probably takes him to age 47 or longer. I will hang on as long as he keeps going because he is making history every time he steps on the field. But when he hangs it up, so will I. I barely watch it now. Just Pats and Bucs.

At least you're honest. I mean I don't understand fans who only root for one player over a team, but whatever.

It melds together. You root for the team of your favorite players. Some fans just root for laundry. That has never been me. I love the players that play for the Patriots. I have rooted for almost all of them pretty much after they left.

They literally brought back every starter from the superbowl team. lol How is it biting them, they are 6-3 and those players are coming back. So now you are predicting that injuries will keep happening?
So you quoted my post but didn't actually read it. OK.

I don't think there is one fiber in Brady that misses the Pats.
Have you never thought of an old flame when having a rough patch with the new flame

I don't hate Brady. I hate Bradyites, or former Patriots fans who follow Brady to wherever team he goes. And yes, I like to troll them.

If you don't think Brady even misses the Patriots a little bit, you are not a real Pats fan. He was here for 20 years and said he's going to be part of the community once he retires. And if Brady hates NE so much, why do you still like him? Your loyalty should be with the Pats and not to one any individual player.

When are you going to start trolling?

It's possible that he does miss some aspects of the Patriots team such as his old teammates.

But wishing the Patriots will fail like I've read here? Not a chance he cares how the Pats do one way or the other.

He is pretty robotic in that way. It's part of his greatness. I don't believe he misses the grind of NE at all. He pretty much has said as much since he left.

"I think my wife has, you know, held down the house for a long time now. And I think there's things that she wants to accomplish. You know, she hasn't worked as much in the last 10, 12 years just raising our family and kind of committing to being in a life in Boston and then moving to Florida. But that's an issue, and it's a very difficult issue to reconcile without just saying, 'Hey, it's time to retire.' And I think there's, you know, we're coming to the end here too, so I don't want to miss any of the kids' stuff."

Brady was really pissed during his presser. That is good. Hopefully he can light a fire to get these guys playing more sound.
I guess Tommy LomBrady didn't get the memo. It's not nice to be yelling at the players. They have feelings.
