OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Would a running game that could get you a consistent 4 yards per carry be helpful? Yeah, but I don’t think it’s high on the list of concerns.
I think their goal is probably to run between 10-15 runs a game max

Mahomes’ interceptions weren’t caught the last three years. If you watched him closely especially last year he threw so many to defenders who just weirdly dropped them. It wasn’t going to last forever.

with regards to the Bucs their defense and running game has been very poor the first three weeks; can’t keep putting everything on the shoulders of Brady.
Yes, Mahome has had a lot of luck on his side. The media talks like he'll be making crazy throws and plays for 20 years, give NE a run for most SB, and cha?lenge TB for Goat. At some point, Mahomes would have to come back to earth and play smart football to avoid fumbles and interceptions. Could this be the year?

Yep, lots of INT dropped last year

Something needs to happen with the defense. A move for a corner or two. There’s no telling how long Murphy-Bunting is out and Dean’s injury yesterday looked like it could be season ending or at least a while.

I’m not sure about the running game. With all the receivers playing, I have more confidence in them just going full 2014 Divisional Round game plan every game. I feel Brady throwing it around 50 times gives you a better chance to win than trying to be 50/50 with your runs and passes. I’m the biggest Brady homer and as great as the TB12 method is; asking a 44 year old to do what he was doing at 37 week in week out isn’t going to be sustainable. If they can run 15-20 times for 80 is all they need

Watched this dude throw today, and I'm seeing:

Tight spirals
Precise
Lots of zip/throwing it hard (still)
Evading rushers and dropping dimes into tight coverage, all while on the move/around the pocket

I mean, a couple plays he evaded a rusher by ducking and moved up and delivered a strike or ran for yards.

Hes doing 2007-2011 Brady sh** at 44. Even in a loss I was genuinely impressed as hell by his play against a STOUT rams defense.

Bucs still getting QB play at its finest, pretty jealous.
It's too bad that we can't get a QB like that on the Pats.

You must have missed all of last year then when Brady did just that at age 43.

He is turning into Favre.

Bucs still have 4 receivers on pace for 1000 plus yards.
Godwin 241 yards on pace for 1365
Evan's 205 yards on pace for 1161
Gronk 184 on pace for 1042
Brown 138 on pace for 1104 (16 games)

There were two in the SB that he threw up for grabs, one while falling down, that were being treated as great throws.
The photo of the game is him throwing the pass while his body was a few inches off the ground. Everyone forgets the ball went right through the defenders hands before hitting his player in the face mask.

On the short Godwin rush and his sneak, I selfishly wanted him to throw them in and keep the MVP gap widening given that Mahomes and Murray had pedestrian games today. I knew coming in that this game was almost one of those guaranteed losses so would have loved to have seen him stat pad a few touchdowns.
Stafford the front runner right now

I swear I saw someone on here say that Mahomes was the modern era, fantasy football, pumped up stats version of 1995-1997 Favre. I believe it was back in early 2020.
There is a poster on another board who back in 2018 said Mahomes was Favre. I kind of laughed him off but he has been 1000 percent right. He just can't play from the pocket. He has too much arm talent and too much hubris. Did you see how disgusted Kelce looked after that heave over his head that basically ended the game yesterday when the score was tied? As bad as the defense has sucked, Mahomes picks have cost them big time vs both the Ravens and now the Chargers.

When you look at that 3rd INT, there are 3 WRs on the left side. Due to phantom pressure, he rolls to the right where there’s just Kelce and chucks it into triple coverage. As always, the line breaks down because of his free lancing. Exactly why paying all that money to o-linemen is worthless.

It's hilarious seeing his fans say that the offensive line still sucks. I wonder why that is?

It is like he is allergic to stepping up in the pocket. To me, that is 100 percent on Reid. They have to coach him out of those habits. He is making more mistakes than miracle plays with the freelancing.
