Peyton's career, from the perspective of a hater like myself:
The most hyped up QB in college football history and savior to UT, where they're supposed to be national champions.
- Peyton goes 0-4 against Florida, Tennessee's biggest rival and main competitor during the time.
- He get excused for being let down by the team and organization. The next year, Tee Martin leads the team to a national title.
He joins the Colts and starts having some regular season success.
- First postseason game: no touchdowns until garbage time.
- Second postseason game: loses to Jay Fiedler, who isn't just terrible but also throws 3 INTs in the game.
- Third postseason game: shutout by Jets, an average defensive team, 41-0.
Goes into regular season domination mode, winning MVPs, throwing 49 TDs, breaking records.
- In 2003, humiliated at Foxboro, as he throws 4 INTs, including 3 to Ty Law.
- In 2004, humiliated at Foxboro again, scoring just 3 points in the 49 TD season. Cries to the league about holding and forever changes the rules.
- With the #1 seeed the next year, one-and-done to Pittsburgh, scoring just 18 points. After the game, tells the press the team had "protection problems" and throws line under bus.
Finally wins a Super Bowl when the following happens:
- In 2006, advances to AFCCG after "beating the Ravens." Colts did not score a touchdown in the game.
- In AFCCG, numerous Patriots defenders miss game/leave game due to injury/flu. His crowning moment is a comeback against a weak Patriots squad, whereby he dug them into a huge hole. The refs later apologize to the Patriots for key botched call.
- In Super Bowl 41, wins Super Bowl MVP award with a 70 passer rating, and his long touchdown coming on a flukey, broken coverage. Colts score defensive touchdown and the team rushes for 191 yards on the ground.
After his Super Bowl "win"
- In 2007, leads one of the greatest teams in NFL history, through 8 weeks (overshadowed by Patriots) to the postseason and gains #2 seed. Loses first home game to Chargers after Billy Volek replaces injured Philip Rivers.
- In 2008, steals MVP, goes 1-and-done again, losing to the Chargers and Rivers, who many felt deserved MVP.
- In 2009, steals MVP, leads team to the Super Bowl after essentially running the table (only lost when he was rested/benched.). Primed for his moment in the sun, throws horrible back breaking pick 6 in the fourth quarter. Loses to Brees, who many felt deserved MVP.
- In 2010, goes 1-and-done, losing at home yet again.
Broncos (or, Colts, part II)
- Leads Brocnos to #1 seed in AFC; goes one-and-done, losing to Ravens. After Ravens force overtime, Broncos get ball; Manning, on second down, throws backpedaling, choke pass over the middle that gets intercepted, leading to loss.
- In 2013, throws 55 TD passes; gets annhilated in one of the saddest Super Bowl showings ever. Loses track of snap count on first play, leading to safety. Throws two interceptions, one a pick six, directly to defenders.
- In 2014, leads Broncos back to postseason as #2 seed. One-and-done loss to Colts and Andrew Luck. Scores just 13 points in an embarassingly poor game from offense.
Wins second Super Bowl when the following happens:
- Benched for Brock Osweiler for a good portion of the season.
- Does not participate in game where Broncos turn season around and change momentum against Patriots.
- Finishes with 44 passer rating, which becomes the lowest passer rating ever for SB winning quarterback.
- Gets caught in a clear HGH scandal, which gets immediately white washed due to league pressure and several goons intimidating the whistle blower; claims HGH, from a scandal-ridden sports doctor, was for his wife and gets a pass.
- In Super Bowl 50, gets intercepted twice on horrendously poor passes. Averages less than 4 yards per dropback, including sacks.
- Praised as "the GOAT" temporarily. Gets paid tons of money to hug Papa John in front of cameras and then stump for Budweiser during his unearned farewell/sunset speech.
