OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

So we're down to seven moves for Bucs to get to 53 today, including a few veterans we can presume will be released like Ryan Griffin and C.J. Prosise.

Just to update -- we have reported 15 cuts for the Bucs before today's deadline: WR Jonsen, WR Mickens, TE Hudson, TE McElroy, TE Adams, OL Benzinger, OL Walton, DL Ledbetter, DL K. Smith, OLB Ponder, ILB Jones, CB Hamilton, CB Miller, CB Wilcox, S Hagan. Plus Watson goes to PUP.

Another cut for Bucs -- they're waiving receiver Cyril Grayson, who had some big catches in preseason. Former LSU sprinter could come back on practice squad if he clears waivers -- Bucs must choose from solid depth even among their WR cuts.

The Bucs have depth issues at several positions, but teams with need should take a serious look at their WR and TE cuts.

Bucs outside linebacker Cam Gill, sidelined much of preseason with a calf injury, will make the Bucs’ initial 53-man roster. Still uncertain whether he’ll go on IR for a few weeks to open the season.

Bucs defensive lineman Khalil Davis has made the team's initial 53-man roster. 2020 sixth-round pick from Nebraska has impressed in preseason.

NFL cutdown deadline has passed, and while Bucs haven't announced their moves, I can report four more cuts: QB Ryan Griffin, RB C.J. Prosise, OL Jonathan Hubbard, DL Benning Potoa'e.

Final two cuts to get the Bucs to 53 today -- OLB Ladarius Hamilton waived, and OT Brad Seaton waived-injured. Bucs have four more cuts to make later this week when their four on reserve/COVID list come back.

So bubble guys who have made the Bucs' initial 53, at least until 3-4 more cuts come later this week: OL Nick Leverett, DL Khalil Davis, CB Dee Delaney, LB Grant Stuard, OLB Cam Gill, OL John Molchon, S Chris Cooper, PK Jose Borregales.

Bucs' current 53, first on offense (25): QB: Brady, Gabbert, Trask RB: Jones, Fournette, Bernard, Vaughn WR: Evans, Godwin, Brown, Johnson, Miller, Darden TE: Gronkowski, Howard, Brate OL: Smith, Marpet, Jensen, Cappa, Wirfs, Wells, Stinnie, Hainsey, Molchon (Leverett on COVID)

Bucs' current 53, now defense (25): DL: Vea, Gholston, Nunez-Roches, McLendon, O'Connor, Davis. OLB: Barrett, Pierre-Paul, Tryon, Nelson, Gill. ILB: David, White, Minter, Britt, Stuart. CB: Davis, Murphy-Bunting, Dean, Delaney. S: Whitehead, Winfield, Edwards, ****rell, Cooper.

(Suh, Succop also on reserve/COVID) Special teams: Pinion, Borregales, Triner.

We've known the Bucs had a ton back from their Super Bowl team -- it looks like the opening 53 will have just nine newcomers. Six draft picks (Tryon, Trask, Hainsey, Darden, Britt, Stuart) and three veterans (Bernard, Delaney, Cooper). Rest were on SB roster or practice squad.

What will the Bucs' remaining moves be? They must make room for guys on COVID reserve list -- adding Succop should mean waiving Borregales; adding Leverett could mean putting Molchon on IR a few weeks, and adding Suh could just mean putting Cam Gill on IR for a few weeks.

Earl Watford is also on the COVID/reserve list but I don't think he would be on the final 53.

Bucs kept six of their seven 2021 draft picks. The exception is seventh-round cornerback Chris Wilcox.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made their final cuts from the preseason and training camp, whittling down their roster to a 53-man list for the 2021 regular season.

This initial list will certainly change over the next few days, as the Bucs have four players (Ndamukong Suh, Ryan Succop, Nick Leverett, Earl Watford) currently on the NFL’s Reserve/COVID-19 list, who are not currently included on the active roster. When they’re eligible to return, a cut will have to be made for any of them who are added back to the 53.

While there’s still the potential for a bit of shuffling at the bottom of this group, here’s the initial group the defending Super Bowl champions will be taking into their attempt for a repeat run:

lol, I was just giving you a hard time. There are people that post, he was just on a roll today without much Brady/tampa news going on.

I doubt that even half a second of thought was put in to the whole list.

If they had put a 3/4 thought into it he'd be in the top ten. If they had put a whole thought into it he'd be number one.
