OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Some coaches call out their players in public some do it in private and some dont do it at all. Some players react well to being called out some don’t. Different styles of coaches and players. It doesn’t necessarily mean one way is right and the other is wrong. We are just used to the BB way. That being said, expectations on this team were sky high. Now that there is a little blip in the road Arians is doing what he can to protect his own reputation. Rightly or wrongly he and his coaches are starting to place the blame at Bradys feet.
Brady seems to be able to take it, at least going by his comments. Plus, he knows that he deserves some criticism.
Brady's MO has also been to respect authority, which is why he worked so well with an authoritarian like Bill. I bet there are many elite QBs who would respond poorly to having a dope like Arians call them out publicly.

I really can't get along with Arians' "leadership" style of publicly calling out players. Has he ever this year come out and said that they as coaches need to do a better job? It always seems to be blaming the QB and other players. Not only for missing supposedly open receivers, but also for playcalling.

"We've got the guys open. We've just missed 'em," Arians told reporters earlier this week. "Other than the deep ball, I think he's getting confused a few times with coverage that might be causing some inaccurate balls, but I don't see it at all in practice. We're not missing the deep ball in practice, that's for sure, so it's just a matter of, on Sundays, hitting 'em."

"We have Tom calling a lot of his own, or picking his own on the sidelines from the game plan," Arians told reporters this week. "So I don't think it's a confidence problem whatsoever. It's not lack of trust -- it's lack of continuity within the offense."
It was reported that Tommy Boy and maybe Gisele as well had tired of BB's behind the scenes criticisms of the QB's play. Too many references to "Johnny Foxboro wouldn't have thrown that pick/errant pass/whatever".
I'll wager that despite sunny Tamper, & shiny new WRs Tom would prefer a return to BB's private remarks to bozo Bruce's public blame shifting.
Bed made. Now lying in it.

Doubtful. I would wager that Brady is thrilled to have a GM and a coach actually pay him a 2 year fully guaranteed contract and then go out and get the players he wanted on offense from Gronk to Fournette to AB. Brady never bristled under hard coaching otherwise he would have never lasted 20 years with Bill nor chose a coach like Arians who has always called out his players publicly. But he did want to be appreciated in terms of getting a decent contract extension after winning his 6th Super Bowl and some semblance of offensive weapons which Bill could not provide.

What's with that box thing Arians wears like a the new millennial fanny pack?

And all that means nothing compared to going to 9 Super Bowls in 20 years and winning 6 of them. I guess that’s what Belichick’s efforts gave Brady

Headset transmitter. Most coaches wear them as a belt, but Arians slings his.

Every time I see someone start a thought with "there was a report" I have to admit to being skeptical of the content. Especially when it goes against what my eyes and ears have seen and heard for twenty years.

Tampa Bay needs Belichick
End of story
I think there's plenty of HCs beside Bill who could bring more success to that group of players than Arians and his band of merry men. They're the textbook example of the theory that players win games and coaches can only lose them.

Whose fault was it in the 14 years that they didn't win the SB?

Me too.

One thing is for certain this year, Bill misses Brady way more than Brady misses him.

That's because, as Bill has told us many times, it's a players game.

I don’t think either misses each other much at all tbh.

Doubtful the 2020 Pats are a playoff team even with Brady knowing what we know now...and Brady is on a much better football team and set up for success in 2020 than he would be with Bill and the Patriots.

Football is, was, and forever will be a team sport, wins and losses are team accomplishments, not QB or any other individual accomplishments.

This week:

Arians continues to publicly deflect any blame away from himself and towards Brady.
While some media have run with the "Brady is in decline" narrative which provides some cover for Arians, other media outlets have begun to question if Arians is the man to coach Brady.
Arians doesn't seem like the type to embrace the 'fall guy' role

Now imagine Arians post-game if KC stomps Tampa today and Brady has anemic showing

If Arians is still there.. he's mighty ****y for a coach who has 1 post season victory...( same number of PS wins as Rich Kotite)
Arians is who he thought he was. Garbage.
