Just to point out the obvious (and not to go down the political lane!):

"We're going to kick your ass, ***"

is the kind of trash talk one can find at pretty much any random adult sports venue, be it an NFL arena or a local playground basketball court.
That may have been true at one point, but is rapidly becoming... not the case. And even to the extent that it is still true, that won't protect anyone who's caught using them from punishment. Just ask Rajon Rondo.

Having said that, is there any actual evidence that Panthers players were using homophobic slurs? Unless there's some evidence behind that, I'd rather not blindly speculate.

Not anywhere that I've been, it's not. As for the punishment thing, I'm not going to even bother getting started about that idiocy.

That's just the claim. It's not been substantiated at this point.

I guess this is what happens when you annoint a guy as the GOAT in his rookie season because he made one great catch...

There kinda is..

If you look at one of Cortland Finnegan's post games quotes, he implies something, saying..

"He may have something in his blood, I dunno, maybe it's female related"

Josh Norman, Panthers hit back on Odell Beckham Jr. for heated play

ODB is a great player dude! He has to tone it down though

This is one of those rare feuds where I don't know who to root for because I don't particularly like either of them. Norman was picking fights with his own QB in training camp, by all accounts he's pretty much as unlikable as they come. OTOH, I generally like Beckham, but after the crap he pulled yesterday it's impossible to really support him in this either.

Either way, the refs should have reined them in in the first quarter, when they were taking shots and slamming each other into the turf after every play. By not taking control, the refs lost control, and this is what happens when they lose control. Going forward, hopefully they'll all learn from this and be way more proactive about shutting this stuff down early before it escalates.

BradyFTW that's my thing with Norman too..

Listen, ODB deserved to get suspended. That was a cheap hit. With that, Norman plays on the edge. He talks his smack, and tries to mentally get a player out of his game, and that's OK, that's his game, but don't go *****ing about it 24 hours later that the guy should be suspended. He's been doing that since the game ended.

You have to expect when you talk the smack Norman does, sooner or later another player would retaliate. Esp with all the adrenaline that goes into a football game. I just find it to be a ***** move that Norman trying to play the victim card here.

Me thinks Norman now is just salty, cuz at crunch time when the game mattered ODB was getting the best of him.

Cris Carter tells us this thing with OBJ has been building up slowly for a while. Well damn man if you saw it building up slowly why didn't you call him up and tell him to get a fall guy!

young guy playing with an edge. He crossed the line here and there, but he's a hell of a player
Nah. I live in NYC and watched every play of that game. "playing with an edge?" he was so far over the edge that he'd have needed GPS to find his way back to it. Plus he dropped a pass that Eli put right in his hands in the open field and would have given the Giants seven points in the first quarter and turned out to be the difference in the game. If he wants to be considered a great player he is going to have to stop putting himself before his team, as Tom Coughlin said today.

man.. i made it to the SB in my fantasy season and I wont have OBJ now for the big game because of this suspension lol!

I also lost LeSean McCoy and Adrian peterson to injury.. all 3 of my keepers wont be available for SB

Nope using homophobic slurs is not part of the game and should not be tolerated.

Unless he's gay, its doesnt matter. Only a gay person would be offended by homophobic slurs.

except you didn't. you stated something as fact, you linked to a random dudes twitter, and then when asked for more information you said "go ask a panthers fan" You Ben Volined this whole situation.

Luckily, we have another poster whose willing to go the extra mile beyond grand standing, and actually posted helpful information which answered all of my questions.

Yes, I did give you an answer. Again, You didn't like the answer you got. So you threw your little tantrum. Funny how almost immediately there were posts from Schefter and others saying exactly what I did. SMH. Gotta love your skewed reality there.

Yeah, bringing bats on the field before a game is weird. What is this the freaking color guard? Maybe give them a baton with some nice sparkly streamers.

Really? It's weird? Guess you've NEVER played a sport in your life other than soccer. LBs and DBs talk about "laying the wood" on someone all the time. Teams use different things to get themselves psyched up. Chants. Cheers. Music. It's no different. Thinking otherwise is what is weird.

Shameful. What if this was a member of the NEP? How many games then?

He's absolutely a great player, but when you're told you're the best ever before you've even really achieved anything, it can go to your head and make you a "diva".

Believe it or not, I'm not going to allow every thread to turn into a pissing match with you.

But yes, if the NFL has video of anyone on the Panthers bringing a bat onto the field and waving it threateningly at Beckham while talking trash, then clearly they should be suspended too. I'm kinda surprised that this even requires stating, but there's no place on the field for threatening to assault someone with a baseball bat.

It's amazing how you can't be bothered to actually read what is said because no where did I say anything about it being ok to threaten to assault someone. You can't because it never happened. Good job grasping at straws and making sh!t up.

There is nothing in the rules that says you can't bring a bat onto the field. It's a prop. Used as part of their pre-game ritual. They've been doing it for awhile.

Furthermore, if you actually read the Giant's officials claims, they said they "reviewed the tape of the sidelines and saw it happen" yet they won't/can't say who it was that made the slurs. Really? They reviewed the tape but won't/can't say who made the slurs? Yeah, BS. If the slurs and threats actually happened, the Carolina player(s) would be getting fined/suspended as well.

And lastly, the Carolina Director of Communications was down next to his players and said it never happened. No threats were made. No slurs were said. I'll take him over the Giants "officials" anyday. Mainly because they're using it as an excuse for Beckham's reprehensible conduct.

Who said he was the best ever?

The video only shows the one player waving it around. It was Beckham who claimed it was "threatening".

Like I said. Ask some Panther fans. If you don't, then that's your own issue.

This is the post where you "answered" my question.

Can you point out the part where you confirm or deny, or go into detail AT ALL about any of the Reggie Bush stuff I asked about with regards to your comment in this post here?

I mean I get it, you're grumpy, but saying I'm revising history, because i asked you a question about something YOU BROUGHT UP and you telling me to go talk to panthers fans, seems kind of like BS to me.

Feel free to point out where I'm revising history, or you know go back and edit your posts and then come back and point it out it that makes you feel better.

That's not true at all.

I'm not gay, call me a F*g I'll break your teeth. There's no need for it.

Could not care less if someone called me a ***. Reflects poorly on them. Why should i care?
