OT: NFL issues slap on the wrist for Giants (200K in fines and lowers 4th round draft pick )

The problem is the league fully knows it's showing favoritism, but 1) they don't care if it's obvious and 2) they expect everyone to just take it.

Some ratings drops this year aside, they've been right so far.

I don't see how that isn't blatantly obvious to an honest viewer. As you said the league fully knows it is showing favoritism, but their past lies and inconsistencies make it impossible to hide.

It is like they are out in the open now and just going to legislate how they want the results to be, and are not even going to try and explain the logic, because there is none.

How do you all like Goodell's NFL* now?

The NFL* loves the Giants and hates the Pats.........

So what?..............whatcha gonna do about it?

this is exactly why the Pats need to win SB51

just to shut up all the trolls and stick it to Adolf Goodells NFL*

4th round pick moved to the end of the round ,WTF!

Not only that, but the "punishment" actually states that the giants pick can't be more than 12 picks lower than what it would've been

Could other team owners appeal this ruling?

Culture of Cheating

Really, I always thought, because the TV folks and the league told me, in those scenarios the other team has to shutdown their system until the issue is fixed on the other sideline.

So the Giants were fined for something that technically could be legal had they simply informed a Ref of their issues?

Unreal that things like this are even a big deal, Tagliabue must be shaking his head watching this **** unfold. None of this would ever have been handled like this by him.

No because I believe the cowpukes never lost theirs. As I understood it from the other guys post, both systems had to be broken

I think I actually hate the Giants more than the Jets now.

I always felt like they earned their SB victories over us so I begrudgingly afforded them respect. But look at the ****ing ******** the Maras have been behind:

1) Laying down heavy punishments on the Pats for not filming from the right location and for using the IGL for our benefit.

2) Pushing the league to punish the Cowboys and Redskins for spending what they wanted in an uncapped year.

3) Josh Brown domestic abuse swept under the rug.

4) Equipment violation one week

5) Using walkie talkies the next.

And that's just off the top of my head. Complete ****ing ***** ****. One set of rules for the Giants another for the rest of the league.

I paid attention to the Farmer story because it was on the NFL's docket at the same time as the Falcons pumping on crowd noise and deflated footballs sham. I could be wrong, but I don't recall multiple warnings being mentioned at that time and that Farmer had texted on more than one occasion. Now, it's being mentioned like it was common knowledge all along. I'd have to go back and re-read the details about Farmer, but it seems like the NFL is re-shaping the narrative to justify the Giants situation.

They are completely full of poop. I don't know much about Farmer the person but I tend to think if he was told multiple times to stop texting the coach during games he would.

I firmly believed the NFL lied in this case only to justify a lighter punishment for the NYG.

We've seen this movie before

I'll add one more: faking on-field injuries in order to halt opponents' drives and/or get rest periods when out of time outs. Hey, most teams, including the Patriots, have done this on occasion, but the Giants have turned it into a cottage industry without consequences.

The NFL* loves the Giants (Jets, Steelers, Ravens) and hates the Pats and the other 27 teams.........

FIFY. There are two standards in the league, one for the favorites and one for the others.. While the teacher's pet teams are smug now, I have to believe that at some point the others will have had enough and there will be a place coup. Remember these are billionaires by and large used to getting their way and never having anybody tell them "no"....
Maybe I'm naive but I'm hopeful that one of these owners will stand up and take a stand and ask why the Jets got a slap on the wrist for blatant textbook definition tampering compared to the Chiefs and why the Browns got a suspension and loss of a draft pick while the Giants got a draft pick dropped a few slots for essentially the same offense.
In the law when you have people " similarly situated but treated differently" it is considered to be discrimination.. That is what is happening in the NFL where the Pats, Saints, Browns, Chiefs have all been slammed by Goodell while the other 4 skate......
At some point I have to believe that "the bow will break".. It likely won't be Kraft leading a rebellion but somebody will and I hope Kraft takes the side of those fighting against Goodell and not defending him......

12 ??? Why 12! What's the significance of 12

First shalt thou take out the Holy Pressure Gauge. Then shalt thou count to twelve, no more, no less. Twelve shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be twelve. Thirteen shalt thou not count, neither count thou eleven, excepting that thou then proceed to twelve. Fourteen is right out. Once the number twelve, being the twelfth number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Pressure Gauge of 345 Park Avenue towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

Problem I have with it is how giants had a helmet fitted with a walkie talkie speaker ready to go. Because there is absolutely no way they inserted one mid-game.

All you have to know is the frequency of the helmet radio and set the walkie to that to broadcast to it.

Who's number 12 on the Pats?

So I'm thinking in an honest league the Pats are trying to win their 7th Superbowl with TFB and BB, Pats are the undisputed Gr8est dynasty ever, there is no difference between regular season Eli Manning and Superbowl Eli Manning, and Jon Tomase is just a run of the mill sports writer in Boston, whose only claim to fame is being the Guinness Book world record holder for most wedgies received.
