I'm not willing to bury him this quickly, but... It looks at this point that Justin Fields should've been the pick at #3 (as well as #2) if SF wanted to go QB there; though they might've been better-served taking Sewell, Chase, Pitts or Waddle instead - or simply not trade Up in the first place.
I’m willing to bury Trey Lance. If they didn’t trade up and instead drafted BPA, they probably could have had a team that could have carried Garappolo to a SB win. They were not that far off, and Micah Parsons was drafted with the first round spot the Niners traded away, and Cole Strange with the traded pick next year.

Or they could have drafted Mac Jones without trading up, and had a cheaper, less injury prone version of Jimmy G.

Lance is an all time terrible move masked by the teams success without him contributing at all.

Even during our winning.. Jets still gave us problems.. they are a division opponent they know us, we know them.. they did beat us in a playoff game on a 14-2 season.. 2010-11.

So even the most Homer's of Homer's have to recognize that Jets are for real.

Sauce to me his game is exactly like Namdi Asomugha the all-pro corner that retired young.

Rodgers, Wilson, breece hall, quinnen Williams, sauce. Yeah.. they are a problem for us.
Awesomewhy was a zone corner in a perfect situation in Oakland. When he signed the big deal on the Eagles to be on the 2011 Dream Team, they tried to have him do things he couldn't, and he was dreadful. That's why he retired.

Gardner is a man corner, that translates everywhere.

Namdi played man and zone.. agree on when he went to the eagles how it was different for him. Sauce plays man.. also Saleh has had him play zone on fast WR'S like Waddle and Hill.. also Namdi has some injury problems.. besides when you have a beautiful wife like Kerry Washington making plenty of Mmmms.. the decision to retire shouldn't be that hard..

Fact of the Matter is.. anyone on here that thinks the jets aren't going to be a problem for us is delusional.

No he wasn't. Even after trading down, he was available to New England.

Yea but we ended up getting a top 10 talent in Christian Gonzalez, who I think will be more impactful to the team long term and we have a much longer history of success with DBs than WRs

We had enough picks where we could have moved up to take someone like him back into the 1st round, but would have meant losing out on guys like Mapu. I'm really comfortable coming away from the draft with the picks they made, short of offensive Tackle that is but they brought in some veterans where they have a good idea of where their floor is to help bridge the gap... definitely a position we need to get locked down like in the good ole days of Light/Solder

Big time 49ers L

Did any other team even want to draft him in the early first round? Such a weird trade and selection. The type of package you'd expect for Lawrence.

Literally any player in the league would be wide open if they had the entire title, as much time as they wanted and ran a hook then broke out to the sideline.
