Stidham is a much better option than the phony goody two shoes Russell Wilson. If Stidham gets a fair chance he will be a top 10-12 qb in this league

When the Pats let him walk, and the Raiders let him walk, it is highly unlikely he will be top 10 -12 in the league. I love Stidham's arm but he has a lot of warts - see the Raiders last game in 2022.

Remember people saying McVay is one of the all time great coaches? Last year the Rams were 5 -12. This year they are in cap hell so they are signing all rookies and UDFAs. It will not improve for awhile with Stafford at QB. Meanwhile the Lions have Goff as their QB, the guy McVay traded, and last year the Lions were 9 - 8 and might win their division this year. The Rams got a SB, and now they are paying the price.
"The cap is crap" is crap, amirite? The Rams did at least win one with the reckless abandon management style, so they got that going for them.
Maybe Bill Murray will summon the Dali for them. Nah, he's a Bears fan.

If that was the case Stidham would be starting and not Mac Jones
Also Zappe took Hoyer’s backup job. Stid couldn’t even do that…

This Panther fan hit the nail on the head regarding Corral.
These were my thoughts exactly.
I like the pickup due to his starting-level upside and there are some definite similarities but Young’s feel for the game, decision-making and leadership skills are next level.

Corall’s accuracy can sometimes leave something to be desired as well. JT O’Sullivan’s deep dive into his performance in week 3 of this preseason made me tap on the brakes in terms of his immediate potential.

Hopefully any accuracy issues can be rectified with improvements in his footwork.

Jt hates his foot work.
I’m confident Obrein can correct this.
It may take a long time to break those habits.
What I see is a guy who made his career off being a superior athlete and the nuances were never pounded into him,
Hopefully Bill can fix those happy feet.
I need to watch a breakdown of his college film now to be sure that his QB coach in Carolina isn’t just setting him up for failure.
But the positive to me is this is fixable.

The Orangeman in me feels compelled to say that anyone who makes a top RB in the NFL list that does not include Jim Brown is officially a dumbass!!!
That’s good to hear. Thought you might like to know that Dave Wohlabaugh’s son is a big ole tackle with Syracuse this year.

Just because 2 teams let him walk does not mean he can not excel in the right situation. Payton is the perfect coach to develop his talent

Not sure that is true. The coaching staff has made big mistakes before on qb evaluation
See Cam Newton and Bailey Zappe

That’s not really true.

Zappe didn’t take the backup job from Hoyer. He got the backup job when Hoyer got injured. He would have never suited up without Hoyer injury.

Stidham was the backup right away in 2019 and he literally took the backup job after Hoyer horrible performance against KC in 2020.

Payton is a good coach but he can't read defenses for Stidham. We will see, I am very skeptical. If two coaching staffs let him go, it says a lot. I wish Stidham all the best, nice guy and nice couple.

I don’t know about better arm?

Ok, so he can make some throws here and there? (he’s better working middle of the field) but he’s not “very comparable” to Bryce Young. While both have a quick release I don’t see many similarities.
And as for arm “strength” I meant more as in Young throws a nice deep ball where Corral really doesn’t (consistently!). I didn’t mean he had a weak arm. Pretty much every NFL QB can now throw the ball 60+ yards

I think he’s the only QB on our team that can throw the ball over 60 yds.
Bryce young like Mac had an all world line, WRs, and Coahes.
I still standby that Reich felt like the team needed a face lift and went up for Young.
Where if optics didn’t matter the better route would of been to develop Corral and built a dominant team around him.

True, they should have realized that Stidham was not up for the starting job earlier. Waiting until all other options were on other teams forced the desperate move to bring in Cam.
