OT - New York Giants

The league has gotta want Oakland in there.

Probably Oakland vs Dallas for the best ratings. Or Oakland vs NY.
OAK over NE?

While there is an element of Patriots fatigue, they still kill it for ratings.

Guess ya gotta take into account I'm in the NY area. But yeah, I figured there's been Pats fatigue for like a decade now.

Still a great product to watch if you're a true fan of good football, but overall the casual fan has gotta be bored with it.

Oakland brings in the West coast, sells a ton of merchandise and is an old school team.

Regardless, and SB will do just fine with ratings.

I think Dallas proved that it was not a fluke. They match up better with dallas than anyone in the nfl

THey are good against dallas. The first game was at the beginning of the year, so you can throw that out the window. The second game was at the meadowlands in the cold - Dak did not look comfortable at all playing in that environment. And yet the giants only won by 3 points. The third game would be back in Dallas where I suspect the cowboys offense will do better.

Did you watch the entire game Giants vs Dallas last week

What i think the league wants....

1. Pats/Dallas
2. Pats/NYG
3. Pats/SEA
4. Pats/GB

Pats pull in ratings and b/c DAL and NYG are big markets and good storylines they'd prefer them.

SB49 had great ratings but not sure how much Goody's crusade vs NE had to do with it
giants are a boring team except for objr, nfl doesnt want a low scoring sb

Can we take care of the nyj and mia before we talk about a potential SB opponent?

Already geeing yourself up to panic against those AFC East powerhouses? Where is it one finds petticoats these days anyway?

The cowboys played ok, but they are not an outdoorsy team. Does bailey make that 55 yard field goal in texas stadium? Probably, but no way of knowing for sure. I am not taking anything away from the giants, but it will be a whole new ballgame if the two teams meet again in Dallas in January. Dak and Elliot won't be brand new to the league and Morris Claiborne (who does well against OBJ) will play.

Did you see what the Giants did to dak. And the cowboys arent an outdoorsy team? They are built to win im cold weather! I agree its a whole new ballgame if romo plays, But Dak is so ordinary its not even funny, and he can be because of the Dallas rushing attack, get him into 3rd and long and its over. The giants blitzed him time after time and he was clueless as to what to do. If you watched the game I dont know how you dont see that

I want nothing more then a Giants and Pats Super Bowl with a decisive New England win. That being said you are kidding yourself if you can't appreciate how much pressure would be on the Pats and that it really is a high risk / little reward scenario (in context of the NYG).

Pats lose and as others have said we are living in a sports world where Eli has three rings and has beaten TB/BB thrice. Eli would ALWAYS be attached to the narrative until the end of time. If we win the NYG/NY Sports media say okay good for you, we're still up 2-1.

What the NYG and NY sports media think is small potatoes when TB12 and BB become the most winning QB/Coach in super bowl history, but they still will have that chip to hold against us. I want nothing more then to kick the ever living crap out of the New York giants football team and start digging a little into that chip.

Considering big markets and the idea of old "villains" vs fresh blood..

#1 Pats vs Dallas - 2 huge markets and everyone will be able to root for Dallas against the Pats cause Dallas is the new kid on the block.

#2 Pats vs NYG - 2 huge Markets but the down side is it is east coast and we have seen in 2 times before though 2 very close games and the Pats who most assume are the favorite vs a team who upset them twice should have enough juice for a part 3. It will be a Brady Legacy game just like SB49 was.

#3 Pitt vs Seahawks - Though the Pats/Seahawks was maybe the best NFL game all things considered (including important and media stuff) ever the Seahawks are not easy to like. A lot of Fantasy football fans like Pitt cause most have someone from that team on one of their fantasy teams. Also It be a new match up with the first QB in the Brady era besides him going for #3.

#4 Oak vs Dallas - Be seen as a classic match up of 2 teams and a throw back kinda game for nostalgia factor and 2 new teams.

In the end I am sure though the NFL wants some combo of Pats/Pitt/Oak vs Dallas/Seahawks/NYG as far as what they can realistically get.

They don't want GB, Lions, Atlanta or KC (though if they get them that is the order they'd prefer from first to least).

Overall, you are correct. Last year it was DEN/CAR- two small market teams but with the PM storyline it was a killer in the ratings.

Dream SB match up Giants vs ???

The giants fans are already thinking about a super bowl rematch. They are so arrogant - they think that beating the pats would be "just another feather in the cap for Eli." These people are so confident right now lol with a 24th ranked offensive and all.

They beat the best team of all time.

Then they did it again a few years later to prove it wasn't a fluke. They get to be arrogant

Yep but last Patriots/Giants SB did a 47 in the Nielsons and 71 share. Those are top 3 All-Time numbers.

That was YEARS ago. 2007 I'll give them credit for. In 2011 the pats had no business being in the SB - we had a weak D and offensive line. Conversely, the Giants with their strong pass rush was able to get after Brady. our offensive line this year is stronger and their pass rush is weaker. The only way to neutralize Brady is through the pass rush.

no one draws bigger ratings than tom brady, peyton manning, and the cowboys

Cowboys did very well in the early 1990s.

Even BAL/SF did a 46/69 share because they were two big market teams.

With that said, even GB/Pitt did the same and they are "small market" but they both had marque QBs.

As long as you have a brand name QB and/or are from a big market people watch.

Oh yeah absolutely, My post was more towards regular season, obviously peyton is gone now, But my prediction is that a Brady\Manning vs cowboys superbowl would break records easily.

Last 2 weeks were the whole "Brady's kryptonite" thing

"Brady plays his worst against Baltimore"- Throws for 400 yards and the Pats basically blow them out

"Brady can't win in Denver"- Brady wins in Denver

Only "Brady's kryptonite" idiom left is "Brady can't beat/Giants in the SB" -

Not forever. What is a fluke is when the Giants make the playoffs. Fortunately for them, in 2007 and 2013 the NFC playoff field proved to be populated with paper tigers.
