When I was a kid I'd go to my grandmother's and they had an old guy who came around with a cart selling cooked crabs for 25 cents. Man were those great. I still like crabmeat more than lobster.I grew up with several lobster fisherman nearby and my family got them for free then as I got older knew some guys who always had some "shorts" they sold for cheap $$.
Sick of them both now, not a fan of butter either..
Give me wild salmon, halibut or cod anyday..
My cousin turned me on to pepper on my corn on the cob. For some reason I had never tried that, but it's great.Grew up eating a lot of clams with my dad except we used margarine (mom called it oleo) instead of butter, when we were done he would peel the clams and put them in melted margarine in a styrofoam cup so they could be heated up again.. it was gross, he died young. Now they don't appeal to me..
I eat corn on the cob plain also, even though many think I am weird I like it that way.
I haven't found a decent fried clam in Manchester and I've been looking for 5+ years. There is supposed to be a bar in Manchester, NH with exceptional fried clams and they dont ration them out.
A lot of places get a good name and then do the old mound of fries on the bottom with a layer of clams on top. Petey's in North Hampton pulled that when I was there.
Claw meat is my favorite too.Eating lobster tail is like chewing on an eraser. The claws, though, are good; sort of like crab.
Lobster used to be so common that it was literally prison chow.Neither, i have arachnophobia. know before anyone starts i know lobsters and crabs are not part of the arachnoid family but thee close enough visually. Besides, in the seventies my girlfriend got me to try lobster. My opinion was it was nothing special
I had a south African lobster at Capital Grill, good size but no claws, the tail meat was tender and sweet, best lobster I ever had.Are they big?
