A sleeper Cousin? Carson Wentz. Played back up to Stafford on the Rams for only $1.65mm. Won an important game for the Rams when Stafford got hurt.Would he like a chance to start again?
Only 31. He got on a terrible Washington Team. Previously he led the Colts to what should have been the Playoffs in 2021. He was blamed for the last two losses but it was their defense. That was a raw deal

I think he would do better than either Flacco or Brissett. This kid might be a perfect "bridge" He has more wins than losses and more TDs than INT. I would give him another chance. Saw a lot of Pittman on this film.

Here is the situation that causes you to pick up Russell Wilson.
When the 3rd pick comes up, you are left with a QB you like but don't love, NOW make that trade down to the #6 slot and pick up their 2nd this year and a conditional pick in 25 depending on the snaps the Giants get out of #3. Now you are in position to take OT #1, WR #2 Edge #1, OR trade down again and get another 2nd and still get a quality OT or WR, or better yet Brock Bowers.
Now you sign Wilson to a 2 year $35MM deal I year at $2MM and $33MM for the 2nd. Wilson wasn't a horrible QB in Denver last year, I think he had 23 TD's and only 8 picks and played his best football in the 2nd half of the season. If Mac had had that 23/8 figure he'd still be the QB and we'd have been thrilled. Let Denver pay for his first year and give it a shot. With 3 picks in the second we could pick up a Pennix or Rattler at the end of the first or the beginning of the 2nd.
That being said, now that he'll be a FA, I doubt the Foxboro lifestyle is what he and his wife will be looking for on a rebuilding team. Atlanta, Giants, be better options for him depending on where Fields lands. His $1.3MM first year cap charge is going to make him very popular with QB needy teams.
Wentz is an interesting thought. Hard to wrap your mind around what you saw from his rookie season to where his career has gone after that. I wouldn't hate seeing him compete with Mac for the starting job if we don't go the QB at #3 option.
But based on all that I'm reading it is going to be difficult of pass up on ANY of the top 3 QB's in this draft. Phil Perry has heard that Maye's interview with the Pats was a big hit. High energy, high intelligence, great presence. He had "IT". Daniels' interview was good as well, but he was quieter, more calm, but very intelligent. HE has the highest upside of ANY of the top 3 QB's IMHO, but also carries the most risk with his frame.
Given that it is THAT close among the 3 of them I can't see Washington passing up JD, given that he's from there an they NEED to rebuild their fan base
