Sorry I'm unclear how these stats prove/disprove my post.
Wasn't to disapprove or approve of anything you posted.. it's just to put up his production.. as rookie coming in he fared very well.. for me.. speaking for myself I was impressed with the kid..

Nobody was criticizing the overall results of the season. But it's his speed that got him there.

If he wants to be a complete back moving forward, he's got to shed some tackles, and pick up the blitz.

Crazy that Stevenson was the better third down back.

At this point of Henderson's career he can't be trusted on 3rd downs.

April 23, 2026 NFL draft in Pittsburgh.

5 picks with 6th and 7th rounders. I know it wont happen but I'd prefer to trade all those for a 3rd for 4th round pick. That would give us 6 picks in the 1st 5 rounds that will fill in any empty gaps left over from FA. I think we need higher quality players.

The only trade pick that panned out was KC.

We saw in the superbowl the kind of back we HOPE Henderson will evolve into. The superbowl MVP was a back who combined speed with EVASIVENESS. Henderson is only 50% there. We can look at it 2 ways. The GDT mentality is to say he's a bad pick who can only do one thing and will never give us consistent positive rushing yards, OR the more realistic attitude that he was remarkably productive given how raw he is and how high his ceiling is.

We drafted Henderson and Williams because we had a distinct lack of speed on the offensive side of the ball. NEITHER is the player we hope he will develop into, BUT the "potential" is there for both. We will hit the draft lottery if they both turn out to be CONSISTANT impact players. More than likely that just one will meet those lofty expectations.

Yeah we agree.

I can accept that Henderson goes down a little easy, but he's got to pick up that blitz.

You have a much better chance of using two of those 6s to get a 5 or to use them in trade ups (e.g., 63 to 59 or something).

Good points.. the safety depth is pitiful beyond Woodson and Hawkins... I'm open to bringing stone in, resigning Hawkins, drafting a guy and let them all compete in TC... Bryant as well... we had 2 pretty good safeties when healthy in Dugger and peppers last season and Hawkins still beat them out... that gets lost in the sauce of all the Hawkins sucks get him outta here talk... bring in all the guys who posters think is better and let them all compete i say?
I actually like Dell Pettus as our 3rd safety, I think he only had 100 defensive snaps so very small sample size but when on the field had seemed to make plays and not become a huge liability.

Pettus is getting better and to your point he did make some nice plays when given opportunity he's physical and is getting better with the coaching.. speaking of the secondary as a whole.. how much of a benefit would it be to have dial back.. he was actually playing well in camp and unfortunately had the knee... once healthy I like him to be in the mix at CB..

My criticism of Henderson is that he seems to go down on first contact too many times.

He gets there fast, but doesn't shred tackles like I would like.
Can't have everything.... where would you put it?

But seriously, can we get more YAC out of Hendo and the production we've seen to date? Yes please.

I agree about the higher rounds, but by 4th round, I've always liked throwing a bunch of darts and bringing in a lot of people to camp and see if you've got any gems.

Dial is a good prospect. He and Woods are our backup CB's. Austin in an RFA. In any case, Woods moved past him in the depth chart last season.

Agreed.. Austin is a mystery to me.. he was one of the best players on the team all training camp and was with the top unit while gonzo was sidelined.. he then started giving up plays and hurting the team during the regular season.. I like dial and woods to be the guys behind gonzo and C. Davis.. at CB.. wouldn't hurt to bring in another veteran in the offseason too..

Those 3 names you mentioned?

I agree that Woods and Austin are NOT good prospects at CB.

Both you and I have begged for better backups for a couple of years.

That being said, I disagree with your definition of BAD as anyone not arguably a good starter or a potentially good starter.

BTW, I do think that Dial COULD be a future starter, more likely a valuable backup at CB and a solid STer.

I like dial to once healthy continue to grow as a player.. he's a big CB at 6'0.. and is physical... we have some guys we with size in Austin but he's just not been playing with the same technique and football smarts he showed previously.. we need another veteran in the rotation.

For depth add CB Mike Hilton.. need a veteran to mix it up.. Mike Hilton is probably a better player right now than what woods or Austin is..

We have our studs in Gonzo and Davis in the secondary.. adding another veteran to the mix would help round out the depth.
