OT-ish: "V Rings" is no more (sorta)

I'm a member of Sail Newport and just got an email blast that Belichick has donated V Rings (a 24' Grady White powerboat) to Sail Newport. Sail Newport will be using it as a safety and support boat.

If NE wins Sunday I wonder what VI Rings is gonna end up being?

I always have been curious why this was the boat he chose. 24' is tiny in the ocean which I believe is where he used it.

Knowing absolutely nothing about boating might it just still be registered as V even if he painted it to VI?
