OT: Foxsports rips Sanchez

The Sanchise did not have a bad game yesterday. No stupid decisions. No costly fumbles. Hit the open guys for TDs. Several Jets dropped easy catches.

It has never been easier to play QB in the NFL than it is right now due to rule changes, rule emphasis, etc. A QB who only does those things (No stupid decisions. No costly fumbles. Hit the open guys for TDs.) and can't make any plays stinks.

Our defensive pressure was a 1/2 second slower than the Ravens the game previous....hopefully it'll get better....the reason sanchez looked even passably pedestrian yesterday was he remained intact and upright for the most part...I maintain that when hit early, he turtles...and remains ineffective the entire game. This will occur many more times this season as other squads with better pass rushes than ours will blitz this little jumpin' Judy back to the Stone age.

I've never seen a QB literally turn his back to the line and give himself up to a heavy rush like Sanchez does when things go bad. He did it in Baltimore; wish the Pats could've brought the heat more. He's not a real strong guy and doesn't shake off hits well. Li'l Marky is one guy who REALLY needs a superior running game behind him to be effective.

If Sanchez doesn't put up 200+ yards and a couple of TDs against a miserable Dolphins team this week we might see Brunell

I thought Greene played a superb game yesterday for them...even LT had moments, but if your defense is not stopping the opposing offense, then those backs who were playing decent are no longer in the picture in the 4th quarter.

OK...I have to ask...did you WATCH the game yesterday?

LT had moments?...he had TWO carries for 13 yards and 1 catch for 2 yards....unless you can come up with some unknown mystery stats, you're full of it.

He is Pennington v2, and I am okay with that.

Pennington, at his best, was far better than Sanchez will ever be. His arm was crap, but he was a career 66% passer. I'll take that over a 55% passer with a great arm any day, let alone a 55% passer with a pretty-good-but-not-great arm.

Barring injury, there is no way that that happens.

Brunell never sees the field unless Sanchez is injured. Throwing in the towel on The Sanchize is bad for Woody's PSL sales.

Brady
Fitzpatrick
Henne
Roethlisberger
Flacco
McCoy
Dalton
P. Manning
Hasselbeck
Schaub
McCown
Rivers
Campbell
Cassel
Orton

E. Manning
Vick
Romo
Grossman
Rodgers
Stafford
Cutler
McNabb
Freeman
Brees
Ryan
Newton
Smith
Kolb
Jackson
Bradford

That's the list of all the starting QBs that teams had to start the year (obviously Peyton is listed only because he'd have been that starter barring injury). How many of them are definitely, or likely, worse than Sanchez? I find four, although I could see people arguing that Henne would have made five.

I have 3 guys being comparable (Henne, Flacco, McCoy), and 4 being worse than him (Jackson, McNabb, Kolb, McCown/Gabbert). By my count, he is, at best, the 8th-worst starting quarterback in the NFL.

I watched the game

He had some decent blocks, not just run...it doesn't always show in the stat sheet.

The Jets didn't do enough on defense to let the RBs carry the game...leave the game in the hands of Sanchez and you usually lose.

Read that earlier, the whole "Sanchize" thing is NY Hype.. perhaps more appropo would be "Sanchideerinheadlights"....
If you consider the Jets and Giants as New York teams (they're actually New Jersey), the best QB in the state of New York is Ryan Fitzpatrick, hands down.

Are they entering the Andrew Luck derby now ...

Actually he's not. Chad Pennington might not have had all the arm he needed but his brain was way better than this guy. In addition, Pennington, though injury prone was one tough guy and I admired him for that. One of my worst memories of YETS fans was of them cheering as Pennington, having injured his leg or foot, hopped off the field so his team would not have to call a time out. The YETS fans cheered the fact that he was injured and would be replaced. They had no clue about his taking an action that would help his team and they had no class in doing what they did.

He's better than people are saying. He's led many 4th qtr comebacks with big throws, and gone to 2 AFCC games in 2 years. He's very mobile, can throw on the run. I think he's a good QB and dangerous opponent.
