It shouldn't be a surprise to see Favre with the Vikings. That team is only missing a quarterback. They are one player away from being a serious Super Bowl threat. In the meantime, they've done nothing to address that need. Ergo, they fully expect Favre to be part of the team this season.

He just didn't want to go to training camp this year. Ironic that he's made his decision as teams prepare to break camp.

It's ridiculous and also selfish. The guy wants to play but doesn't want to do what it takes to win or get a ring. He just wants to keep playing, with minimum work put in, and keep cashing checks as well.

He's be like Clemens with the Astros (in being not totally committed to the team) but likely without the performance.

This is the best thing that could have happened for Aaron Rodgers, he's going to destroy the Vikings and outplay Favre, and make the Packers his team finally.

They have a strong D and a stud RB, but who is Favre going to throw it to? Berrian and Rice are average to below average. Their TE's are horrible in the passing game. Favre could win playing conservative and dink and dunk it, but we all know he won't, and will lead the league once again in interceptions, while killing his team in key moments.

At the very least, it will galvanize Packers nation behind Rodgers, and any former Favre loyalists still there will now support the young QB.

I'll just reiterate what I said earlier this AM on the Favre thread in the NFL forum. Vick getting all the attention was more that Brett could take. And Goodell was likely counting on that. He pushed to get Michael signed last week so that Brett could then distract everyone from that signing this week. Win-win for a Commishoner of the collective who is into micro managing this cash cow it's his vision to market. Whether he's suspending them, rehabbing them, or pimping them it's all generating publicity for the NFL - Football 24/7/365...
