I remember pulling out the paper and trying to work out all the crazy freaking scenarios that would have to happen for the Pats to earn a wild card vividly back in the 80's.

None of the home games ever sold out, so as a kid I used to go behind the bar we had at the house (yes my parents loved the sauce) and listen to the radio over these big ass headphones.

I truly hope the young fans appreciate how well we have it. That is why I get so pissed when I hear the fans boo if the pats are losing going in at half time.

When this ride is over, its over!

You would expect that variation from the pattern gets far harder as you go up the distribution. Any statistician would expect a number in the range of 106 to maybe 109. That's just nuts.

Yeah its not just the winning its watching Brady and the Pats year after year.. Its amazing to watch. I watch a lot of other teams in the NFL play also but the Pats seem to play at a different level. Its hard to describe.

I like the Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins also but the thing about football is that every game is like a playoff game. Every game in the NFL is huge. Other sports can't compete like that.

Fun stat for the fins, since the Brady era started the fish have had 6 years with a winning record (and of course one of those was in 08) and 9 head coaches, which is especially significant because pre Brady they had only ever had 3 from 1966 until 2001

San Francisco has always been the standard we are held to with God Montana at the helm.. in their 10 year heydey, from 1979 to 1988 they were 92- 59.

America's team, Dallas, during their glory days of 1975 to 1984.... were 107- 40

And all of this winning is done post salary cap..

It is so easy to forget how spoiled we are. It truly is amazing. Reading that reddit thread, I am reminded of what it used to be like rooting for Grogan etc.. I call myself spoiled cause only 4 or so wins a year are actually worth celebrating (all are worth celebrating but I've gotten used to it so wins against teams like Cleveland are meh) for me until the playoffs. But I'm young and all I have is Pats success. I know the fans from the way old days...like super super old days...like prehistoric days...are loving every second of it
