Just came home in the middle of the afternoon and switched the TV on to see a beautiful goal by Italy. What a gorgeous pass!

De Gea and Buffon are very much his equal at the minute., and Buffon's nearly flipping 40, which is mental.

Up until this season Courtois was probably ahead of him as well.

Belgium so reminds me of the Figo/Rui Costa golden generation Portuguese teams. Ridiculously talented team that's never really gone far in tournaments.

So anyway, Italy beat the highly fancied Belgians. No-one does tournament football like the Germans and Italians, and no-one has perfected the ability to frustrate and protect like the Italians. Never ever write them off.

Italy dissapointed two years ago, But they were unlucky against uraguay. As you said never write off the italians, but especially when juventus is good because when juventus is good, the national team usually is too

I do think it's great that there are so many excellent keepers about. All the guys named above, Cech, Oblak, Lloris, Navas, ter Stegen, Trapp, Perrin.............it's crazy.
