I’m sure there are racist people on this board just like there are everywhere but I don’t understand how using the term thug has anything to do with racism. And as you say the comments I see on this thread appear to be the kind of jokes people would make without any regard to or knowledge of race.

Honestly, I didn't have you in mind on this thread or any other in that regard. Despite what some may believe, I wasn't accusing anyone. My comment was intended as a general observation that racism and bigotry rear their ugly heads on this forum from time-to-time, as they do on other contemporary outlets where anonymity allows some to express opinions and thoughts which they might not without the presence of that shield. That was it.

But he is the one inferring there's some underlying reasoning/motivation to posts which I know for a fact in my case had no intent other than to take a sardonic poke at the life these things take on and the tangents they go flying off to. We had no idea at the time whether the death was the result of an accident, natural causes or foul play and certainly did not know the decedent's race or anything other than where he was found and authorities believed he either suffocated or was strangled. Considering there was no racial connotation to the comments made the blanket inference that there was seemed to me designed to be the equivalent of stirring up shyte for shyte's sake, puerile and ill conceived at best. YMMV
