Rodgers. He can still sling it and is better than every one of those guys. I would even say he might be better than half the starters in the league currently.

He’s actually one of the worst starters in the league by advanced metrics. I read a very detailed article on it a couple weeks back.
He is a shell of what he once was. He use to be so good extending plays and creating outside of the pocket, and that part of his game is gone. He doesn’t move well and is scared to get hit.
He can still sling it from a clean pocket, but he’s losing his tools quickly, he’s done after this year

Many many bad choices. I’d choose Jimmy for sure. But he’d only last 3-4 games at best.

I guess I am viewing him in comparison to the rest of that group. Which is not saying much of course.

Right, it is an ugly group.
Mac looks like the best of the bunch, again would need a QB friendly environment.
I feel dirty even saying that, yuck

I think he is the best backup in the league. Can keep a team above water in a spot start. When he has too many starts, his weaknesses become more glaring.

That is a long list of washed up QBs and Punky McMilfson

Does "in a pinch" mean your starting QB went down (I assume). Or, you have no starting QB & need someone to play until you draft/trade for a legit QB?

In the Patriots case, none of these guys or anybody else would be brought in to compete for the starting position. Backup only.

A team like the Browns, Jets, Cardinals would probably bring these guys in to compete/give them the starter job.

To the 'rest of the group' that he wasn't part of in the first place and now we're adding Jones. If we're just choosing from whoever then I'm signing Drake Maye dropping the mic and walking off

Daniel Jones, it's not close.

He’s got some maturity problems that he hasn’t shown any insight into. He got passed over to start for Miami and a benched Tua is the emergency back up over him.

Geno and Sam at least were adults
I think you have it mixed up. In Week 16, Wilson was active as the backup (QB2) and Tua was declared inactive as the emergency option (QB3, meaning he can only come in if both Ewers and Wilson are out with injury). Tua is demoted behind both Ewers and Wilson. Not saying the same can’t be said for Wilson but I’d say if anyone has shown maturity concerns it’s the guy who threw his team under the bus this season.

For the record, there were only 4 options when this thread started.

Jones is going to have a hard time coming back from that Achilles. He may be toast

I would still take him over the rest. At least he knows how to run an offense, and isn't a dirtbag.

You all know I had to vote for my boy.

Most of these guys remind me of Uncle Rico

Whoever i can get in any round of the 2026 draft is the answer.

Look for the QBs in the draft who frustrate scouts. "How does he get it done? He doesn't have this or that physical attribute!" Those are the guys you can develop into something. It means they're probably film junkies who study obsessively to get an advantage. That sorta mindset easily translates to the pros.

Philip Rivers. He played well for a guy who wasn't training to play and didnt know the full playbook. He was reading the defense and making good reads. Plus he was fired up on the side lines and looked like an awesome teammate.

If he was willing to put up with the grind for a full season I would strongly consider as a 1 year bridge gap QB. Would be an amazing mentor for a young rookie QB unlike Rodgers who is all about Rodgers.

FWIW he un-retired as a personal favor to Steichen and to get insurance for his brood. I don't think he'll be willing to play elsewhere.
