Zack Cox notes the Patriots tried to sign him last offseason:

He was probably of interest last year as a return guy first and foremost, at 5'8" / 164lbs. With the drafting and development of Marcus Jones, that need has mostly disappearded.

Mckenzie would be a very good Slot insurance plus he offers return ability I am sure BB is taking notice.

you'd be crazy not to look into him. He burned the Pats a few times....very fast.

this team has always used that 3rd down back to help you.....couldn't be any worse than ty Montgomery.

Some of his best games are against us.

Is he any good whenever hes not being covered by Myles Bryant?

This is his game log in 2021 , holy **** lmao B9B5B4EF-2D7B-41BB-81EF-E5EFAE6D3583.jpeg

In 2022 he at least had 2 other decent games besides ours.

McKenzie at 3rd down back is a great way to get your QB killed. He's a gadget player, no thanks.

In Buffalo, all the fans and announcers say, he only plays well 2x a year. Against the Patriots. Otherwise all he does is drop passes, fumble, runs the wrong routes.

He's been replaced on ST by Nyheim Himes.

The reason why he played well against the Patriots and no one else is because McCourty couldn't track him out of the backfield and our linebackers are very limited speedwise.

He was making very little money. The Bills do not have ANY WR depth. The Bills cut him anyway.

If he is as bad as the bills fans say he is plus they did just cut that is fine..but let's not act like we are too above this type of player when we had players like

Danny Woodhead
Ty Mongomery
Lil Jordan Humphreys
Deon Lewis
and J.J. Taylor

ugh made the mistake of drafting him on my fantasy team. Never again. Very inconsistent

Everyone get over the dream of having a "WR1" - ain't gonna happen.
We're getting 3 ~ WR2's (or some of you may rank Parker & Bourne as WR3)
And who knows what Thornton becomes. It'll be an average platoon style WR room.
It appears the TE's & RB's will be the power and threat.

The bloom is off of that rose, it seems. They wanted him to be their slot guy last year and he seemed to blow his chance. Bills fans like him and rooted for him to succeed, but he ended up consistently frustrating them last year, when he was given an opportunity.

On the other hand, the Pats offense under BOB and with Mac at QB may be a better fit for him. I see no problem with signing him for little guaranteed money and then evaluating his fit and usefulness during OTAs, minicamp and training camp. He could potentially offer big play ability on offense similar to Marcus Jones and can be a weapon on kickoff and punt returns. Jones is going to be too important to their defense this year to expose him to punishment as a RB/WR, in addition to his PR duties, in my opinion.

Why is Humphreys on that list? Or Montgomery for that matter?
