Being reported now by multiple outlets over the pass 2-3 hours.

If that is the case then the Steelers could easily lose 2 or 3 games from this even with the bye week. Changes a lot of how we think about them as this has perhaps brought them out of top 2 seed contention all together.

The next 6 weeks look like this

the Pats
Bye
@ Baltimore(no gimme even with a healthy Ben)
Dallas
Browns (much needed win for them here)
@ Indy

If they don't have Ben for those games I will say in order... Lose, Lose, Lose Win, toss up.

The rat that a young Michael Jackson sang a song about?

They'd beat Indy without him, if Bell and Williams are healthy. Those 2 will probably run for a combined 250+ against Indy

Ben misses games every season and all they have for a backup is Landry Jones, great management right there.

Pats need to win this game and take care of their own business. They couldn't cover Brown the last time and now have added Coates to the mix. McCoy had a field day and Bell is much better. This game is no gimme even without the Rapist. Steelers will win most of these other games with the exception of the Dallas game. Pats need to secure the tie breaker with a win on Sunday.

This is a notable pattern with his injuries, extending the initial recovery time so he can continue to scream loudly that he is tough and plays through pain. I can't recall a single injury of his that didn't go down exactly like this. This way, he will come back in the early end of the recovery rather than the late end.

I think they could even possibly beat Baltimore without him. I could still see them team getting 11 wins, they're just no longer a threat to unseat us from the top seed.

This is bad. Looks deliberate by a player with a history. Should be zero tolerance, but, you know, integrity.

First week - no weight bearing
Second week - light weight bearing/perhaps some walking
3rd week and on - rehabbing

Standard times for this. 4-6 weeks is the norm. I got scoped and returned ahead of schedule, AMA, which resulted in a painful afternoon at the doctor's office.

Gotta agree with ice ice baby - he'll be back after the bye, to the usual accolades from the press and a built in excuse if he tanks. He'll get the accolades either way.

If Ben's back the first week after the bye, he's back ahead of normal schedule, not ahead of an artificially delayed schedule. If you don't want to believe me, you can just go do some research, and you'll find out for yourself.

So are you saying he's back in 3, 4 weeks or 6 weeks?

Malcolm did better vs Brown than the stats suggest. 1/2 his yards and the TD came on a garbage time drive

It may end up helping us in the afc standings but at the same time you hate seeing a great player missing that much time 2 straight years now. Ben is playing the best ball of his career imo and currently id rate him above rodgers as #2 behind brady.
