Other teams are turning it around in short time. They spent money and had the same draft slot as NE and dug themselves out of the ditch.

Washington was 4 - 14 in 2023 and 12 - 5 in 2024. Houston was 3 - 13 in 2022 and just had consecutive 10 win seasons.

Nobody expects a Super Bowl or even the playoffs. Its time to end all the excuses and lame axx reasons why the Pats cant win. Clean house by ridding the team of 5hitbums like Bourne. 31st NFL offense needs new people.
the Pats were willing to spend money. no one said yes to them., other than their own.
their from other team free agents, were all low cost, no impact on the salary cap, change of scenery guys.
Hooper, Gibson, Slye, relative to their salary, were nice middle roster signings
Leverette, Watt, Chuks, Osborne, did not work out, and cost nothing.

Washington won 7 games on their last possession.

I wouldn't say we blew Year One of the rebuild....we landed a franchise QB.

I also believe they spent wisely extending good players who had a track record of strong performance and not on expensive quick fixes.

They have great draft picks and plenty of cap space.

They just missed on the coach.

And they potentially missed on 7 draft picks. The jury is still out, but it does not looking good. They also missed in free agency. They also missed in available trades. Imagine having Jerry Jeudy as a building block to pair with Tee Higgins? Imagine have a left tackle or guards who actually knew how to play the position rather than be plugged in just anywhere? No, they didn't just miss is coaching. We traded Ladd McConkey for Polk. You call that just a missed coach?

Oh really? You need to go read Ring's posts then. He says we are turning this all around because of cap space. The state of the Pats roster is not comparable to Houston or Washington. They had key pieces in place. We don't. Yes, clean house but you still have to have a roster. You can't do it in once season.

Your statement was they blew Year One. They drafted a franchise QB- the hardest position to nail. That is not "blowing it"

You are highlighting missed opportunities without determined outcomes.

Too early to call on the draft picks.

Sorry but I don't see things as bleak as you do.

Except of Drake, they blew a whole year.

I’m not even sold on Drake. We need to see more than his one throw and run per game before calling it a day. He played mostly bad teams, but could only beat one of them. He got blown out against a 4 win Jacksonville team and a 8 win Arizona team. In fact, he needed Brissett of all QB’s to get him his other win against a 5 win Jets team. I’m sorry, but that should be a major concern.

I fully expect Vrabel to be very aggressive in FA and give these players more confidence to come to NE than Mayo could. i think there’s a good chance NE will overpay to get Higgens here to provide something for Maye.

I think Deebo is a good player, NOT a stud IMO.
Can he help?
Sure, he's a baller if he can stay healthy after getting the snot beat out of him.
Not for big $ though.

There is no hope for you. You live in a video game world. Pure delusion.
Great comeback. Was “oh yeah” already taken?
Having more resources than any other team has ever had is not video game, it’s real life. Teams with far less resources included.
Many, many teams turning around in one season is not video game, it’s real life.
Having the QB is not video game, it’s real life.
Coaching change, and culture change is not video game, it’s real life.

Not relying on a 33 yards per game WR2 when you have more resources than any team ever has is not video game, it’s real life.
Expecting the organization to use the most resources any team has ever had effectively enough to improve as much as teams historically have, even when they had far fewer resources, is the opposite of delusional.

I expect people to do their jobs, you thinks that is “video game”.

He’s the right type of player too

When did I say the ARE doing anything?
Washington and Houston had no more than us.

Cap space means we can add more players. Of course there is a greater opportunity to improve when you can add a greater number of players

Do you really expect them to effectively spend $120+ million and not be able to contend with a schedule that has 8 5 win teams on it? They essentially can add half of a football team, and you think they won’t be better than 5 win teams?

I don’t agree. The Patriots were not willing to spend to the cap. Every player they made an offer to signed except for Ridley.

The difference is that while Kraft thought he had a year grace period with Mayo so he tightened the historically cheap reins, Vrabel wouldn’t be here without a promise to at least spend to the cap, even of we keep doing it the cheap way.

and presumably you won't be sold on Drake until he gets MVP or all-pro votes.

I guess that depends on the definition of big money.

We very badly need two starters. Deebo is certainly good enough to be one of them.

Still delusional. I said nothing about 5 wins. Ever. You argue with people so much you can't even remember what you said and to whom you said it. But hey, at least you are consistent.

I am sold on Drake having all the physical skills needed to be an NFL quarterback. I am also sold on him being the right guy as far as a teammate and leader. Maybe he never puts it all together but I would be shocked if he isn't at least a fringe top 10 QB in the league by the end of his rookie deal.

Uh no. He needs to do more than have one throw a game and scramble out of the pocket before forgetting how to play the game for the rest of day. That's not too much to ask. He was invisible against bad teams, but you can keep ignoring that if you'd like.

His hype among some of you isn't warranted. The league is designed for even terrible QB's and teams to score points, yet most of his damage were late in games when teams took their foot off the gas.

He has talent, but he has a lot to work on.

He does and I think he made a leap from camp to his first start. With a real OC and some NFL caliber linemen I think that should speed things up.

posters are posting like the decision on players signing is the Pats to make.
there will be competition for all the WR's on the market. slight over pay in trade compensation is to be expected, or perhaps, substantial over pay in free agency dollars is to be expected, if the Pats are going to secure WR help outside of the draft.
we saw a willingness to do that last year with Aiyuk, and he still refused.
rather a question of what do you believe Deebo to be worth on the open market, the question needs to be what will it take to get Deebo in New England? surely, two different answers. Ditto Kupp. Ditto Metcalf. Ditto Higgins.

You can only talk about what you do and don’t want your team to try and do, what happens with the rest of the league is too broad to bring into the discussion.
