Osborne also wants out

You are saying he’ll be better for being bad. I don’t agree. If he was a good coach he would already know the things that adversity is supposed to teach him.
Plenty of coaches faced adversities before coming into their own. Raheem Morris, Dan Campbell, shanny, Pete Carroll, BB, McDermott, harbargh, to name a few.

I agree on all fronts. Mayo's got the same problem Bill had. No talent on this roster. Now he has a QB so that's huge. Personally I don't have any beliefs that he will win another game this season. But that's just me.
The only possible games I see right now are against the Titans, maybe the Colts or the Cardinals and Chargers as their offense is awful.

Cardinals can score! Chargers don't seem to be able to anything but a tease.. Colts can be tough and Titans are probably the mirror image of us as a roster.

Real: if he doesn't win another game or two he's One and Done. I don't expect the Krafts to be loyal in that scenario.

Ok. That isn’t what you said. You said he would be better because of this debacle.

Plenty of HCs failed after facing adversity like Adam Gase, Jim Schwartz, Cam Cameron, **** McPherson, rod rust, Robert saleh, Jim Tomsula, Josh McDaniel, Matt Nagy, Matt rhule, Hugh Jackson, etc etc etc

The only way I see my guy mayo back is if this team turns around I'm talking winning at least 5,6 games on the season and looking like they are building something heading into next season. PF2 you know me.. I'm always optimistic I just don't see it for Mayo. I don't see another win.

I am a nobody but I think entire staff is back next year, if there are any changes it will be on the defensive side of the ball. Not necessarily Covington but someone on that side.

Now tell me which coordinator worth his salt will come under Mayo knowing that they could get canned in a year if mayo is fired. We will get only retreads .

If AVP and Covington get fired Mayo also loses his job . It was not so apparent earlier but the way season has unfolded and Maye looking like a stud might cause Kraft and co to pull the rug sooner . Mayo at this point of time is sunk cost.

Nice to find a sane take after jumping in on Page 17.

Seems they should just let him go if that's what he wants because he's right, the team can/should/will be giving the young guys a lot of playing time.

I guess he saw the situation with Brisette as QB1 during free agency and thought the team would be playing the vets, but that went nowhere and now it's all about playing the young guys.
He was already a healthy scratch so he is basically a bottom of the roster guy anyways. No idea why theyre keeping a guy like that around especially when Thornton is apparently going to be active Sunday. If Osborn doesnt want to be here and he isn't really valuable to the team then cut him loose. Another malcontent in the group is far more detrimental than anything he can really offer to the offense.

I feel they are playing Osborne to showcase some potential and then just trade him if anybody has interest . I don't expect him to play after game 8 .

Baker and tyquan will complement pop, Bourne and Boutte. Tyquan gets another 4 games to notch up at least 150+ receiving yards and 2 TD to stay in contention . Else he will be healthy scratch for remainder of season while we play Polk and baker to find out if they are worth investing for future.

No. Point I was making is Mayo will have learned to become a better coach by actually going through adversity. If he can't then he'll never end up being a good HC
He may still not end up being a good HC. Adversity alone doesn’t make anyone better, it’s how they respond to it. So far he’s shown nothing in response.

We can't determine his HC career so prematurely.. yeah I'll agree it's been a 6 game loosing streak, it's breeded a losing culture. So my take is either he becomes a better coach from adversity or he doesn't. Winning creates buy-in. Lot easier to coach and get players on board win your winning. Mayo's got to go through this. It is harder to get players on board when you lose.

And sometimes the learning from adversity takes some time, or even a break followed by a fresh start. Or even stepping back from being HC and spending time as OC or DC. You lose the locker room, it’s tough to recover. You lose the fans, it’s tough to recover. You lose the owner, you don’t get the chance to recover. Right now Mayo has lost at least one and likely two of those three.

Agreed. Mayo's situation is unique as he was a player, position coach and now HC. I believe he has the DNA of a what a good coach in 2024 NFL can be. However he's going through the realization that it takes more than what he initially may have thought. Losing is what's created the mood of the players and then permeates to the play on the field. I'm curious to see if he can get these guys to play any kind of inspired ball.. even for guys who won't be here next season they still have to put something good on film.
